The bearded man looked chunky in a black leather jacket. He also had a tattoo on his neck and seemed to be a thug who was up to no good.
Upon being rebuked by the pretty woman for cutting queue, he blew a gasket. “Who do you think you are to say that I have no manners, b*tch? I can easily beat you to a pulp, you know?”
She argued, “Everyone stands in the line except you. You're so selfish to only think about your convenience at the expense of others. Am I not right to say that you're ill-mannered and lacking in civic-mindedness?”
The thug went ballistic and yelled, “How dare you scold me? B*tch, you're asking for it!” Fuming, he raised the bottle of Louis XIII cognac in his hand and was about to smash it at her head.
His action was so sudden that it rendered the woman in complete shock. She froze and forgot about dodging him.
The little girl in her arms was startled and started wailing.
Seeing that the woman was about to get hurt, an outstretched arm appeared in time and clutched the bearded man's wrist with a vice-like grip, leaving the bottle hanging in mid-air.
It was Nathan.
The woman stared blankly at Nathan after she was saved by the bell.
The crowd heaved a sigh of relief. If the bottle really landed on the woman's head, she might be dead by now.
The bearded guy was dumbfounded and vexed because he did not expect anyone to stop him. He gave a roar of rage, “Dude, do you know who I am? Ask anyone in the underworld of Brimmopolis and none would say they haven't heard of Benny. Mind your own f*cking business!”
Nathan retorted, “What kind of man would hit a woman?”
Nathan was filled with indignation because his wife was harmed by Kiel and suffered a miscarriage as a consequence.
Moreover, this unruly Benny jumped the line and was atrocious enough to attempt an assault publicly in front of a child. How lawless of him!
Benny erupted in anger. “I shall beat you up instead!”
With that, he raised his leg and kicked Nathan when he least expected it.
Benny's cunning action challenged Nathan's bottom line. Considering how vicious Benny was, Nathan could no longer hold himself back from teaching Benny a lesson.
Nathan returned him with a swift and even more powerful kick.
The woman went up to Nathan and said to him with gratitude, “Sir, thank you for being a good Samaritan.”
Nathan smiled. “It's nothing worth mentioning.”
At that moment, two police cars on patrol arrived and more than ten members of the armed special forces rushed to the scene.
Seeing that the captain of the patrolling team was present, Benny hurried over to greet him. “Hi Captain, you came at the right time. He assaulted me and broke my leg as well as my head. Catch the woman too; they're a gang.”
The captain of the patrolling team had been serving in Brimmopolis for two decades. He knew all of the prominent families by heart.
He almost jumped out of his skin when he saw Nathan and the beautiful middle-aged woman. “General. And Mrs. Woods.”
To Benny s disbelief, Nathan was the General of the North whereas the woman who was standing next to him was the wife of Garrett Woods, the youngest and most promising cabinet member!
Benny's face turned as white as a sheet and he nearly fainted from fright.
