Zach turned toward Nathan and grinned. “Bay, did I handle it well?”
Nathan remarked with an approving smile, “Excellent!”
Zach laughed heartily and gestured. “I've ordered the chef in The Peninsula to get ready some food and wine. We haven't gotten together for such a long time. Let's go and have a drink tonight!”
Nathan replied happily, “All right!”
Soon, they arrived at The Peninsula.
Zach did not invite any other guests and even dismissed his capable subordinates from the restaurant, leaving him and Nathan alone in the private room.
He poured the South Army Special Wine for Nathan and glanced at him. In an irritated tone, he chided Nathan, “Please take your mask off! There is no one else here. I can't get used to looking at your strange face now!”
Nathan could not help but laugh. “You're not my woman! That's none of your business!”
Despite that, Nathan cleaned his face and removed the unremarkable mask.
He then returned to the private room as his real self. Not only was he brimming with confidence, but his face was angular with obsidian eyes like that of the night sky.
Zach remarked with a cheerful smile, “Look at you! I'm more familiar with this face.”
He raised the wineglass and toasted it to Nathan. They emptied their glass.
During their meal, Zach asked, “Nathan, why did you disguise yourself despite having such a high status?”
Nathan responded, “I fell out with Clifford recently. He recalled me to the North urgently in the name of the Cabinet and let the Goldstein family seek trouble against my family.”
He then continued, “However, there is no war in the North. I am worried about my family, so I can only disguise myself as Bay Cross to protect them secretly.”
Fury roared through Zach's mind. “This bunch of idiots dared to hurt your family! I should call Aiden and order him to kill Gillian and Alan...”
Zach was curious. “Who do you want me to support?”
Nathan replied impassively, “Garrett Woods!”
It surprised Zach. “Ah, Garrett! That man is pragmatic and keeps a low profile. He served in various places and did a good job there. Having such an outstanding political performance, he is indeed very capable.”
He then continued, “However, his qualifications are not as good as Clifford and Zion. He has no allies to back him up. Does he stand a chance to compete against Clifford and Zion?”
Nathan replied with an encouraging smile, “Since I've asked you to support him, he definitely stands a good chance of winning.”
Zach agreed with his request. “All right. If Garrett really runs for president, I'll vote for him for your sake.”
Nathan was pleased. “Great, thank you!"
