At that point, the restaurant had been practically reduced to rubble. He turned his head to face Thomas and said, “I'm really sorry for wreaking havoc in your restaurant.”

“Mr. Cross, this is really nothing. On the contrary, I think that this is a very good opportunity for us to bring forward the renovation of our restaurant. It's a great chance to make sure that it doesn't go out of style.”

Nathan merely smiled, and advised for Thomas to do a proper cleanup of the place.

Then, he turned around and signaled for Kylie to leave the restaurant together.

Just when he was about to leave, he noticed that Ivan was looking at him in a peculiar manner. Nathan knew that Ivan must have noticed his

true identity by then.

Ivan shuddered in fear, his face ashen as he realized that Bay Cross was actually Nathan.

Even though he bragged and flaunted himself like he was the best in the world, and belittled the General like the latter was worthless in front of Kylie, Ivan actually found the General intimidating.

He even wished he was dead after knowing that the person before him was none other than Nathan Cross.

Ivan then recalled that he had resorted to dirty tricks to win Nathan back when they fought at the new recruits wrestling competition.

Terrified that the latter might seek revenge against him, Ivan utilized all his connections just so he could transfer from the North Army to the

East.

It turned out that Ivan's worries were justified.

Nathan had skyrocketed to the rank of the Commander-In-Chief of the North Army in just a few years' time.

He had always been thankful that he was no longer with the North Army. Otherwise, he would be as good as dead.

However, it was beyond his wildest expectations that they would meet again under such circumstances.

He shuddered to think that he had even badmouthed the General right in front of the man multiple times.

Needless to say, Ivan was filled with remorse.

Right then, Nathan glanced at the dejected man and their eyes met.

Almost subconsciously, the man fell to his knees and pleaded as he sought Nathan's forgiveness.

Before he could even say anything, Nathan had already reached out to steady the man.

“I'm just a lieutenant colonel, no military etiquette requires you to kneel before me. Besides, there's no need to apologize to me. I believe that you've learned your lesson just now. Our score is settled.

What Ivan did not know was that a pair of murderous eyes were staring intently at him. Yanny's arms and legs were crippled by Thomas' men, and he stared long and hard at the man who had just been spared by Nathan.

After getting out of the restaurant, Nathan said in an apologetic tone, “I'm really sorry for ruining your blind date. I didn't know there was going to be so much drama.”

Kylie shook her head to dismiss him. “The blind date was arranged by my aunt and uncle. Besides, I'm not really keen on attending the blind date anyway. It's impossible for me to have any feelings for that Ivan, so don't be sorry about it. You didn't ruin anything.”

Nodding his head, Nathan said, “Let's head back home then.”

“It's still early. Why don't you accompany me for a walk along the riverbank?”

“Sure.”

The two silhouettes strolled along the riverbank, blending in perfectly with the picturesque scene.

“You're sent here by my brother-in-law to protect Penny. So I guess you must be close to Nathan, right?”

“Yes, I'd say we're quite close.” Nathan smiled.

“Then why don't you tell me more about Nathan's achievements in the military?” Kylie

queried almost instantly.
