His personal bodyguard, Quent, asked, “Mr. Davier, should I send some people over to the North Army to get proof of Nathan leaving the warzone without permission?”

Clifford shook his head. “No! Nathan is the commander-in-chief and has a good reputation among the North Army. Everyone in the army looks up to him. Not only will we not be able to get proof of Nathan leaving the warzone without permission if we send someone over, we will also alarm Nathan.”

He said coolly, “I need you guys to claim that I will be heading to the West to check out the disaster while I head to the North and catch them off guard.”

“Yes! Right away!” replied Quent.

Clifford called out to him. “Wait.”

“Mr. Davier, what else can I do for you?”

“I need you to send some powerful fighters over to the South to delay Nathan. This is to make sure that he won't be able to return on time when I reach the North tomorrow to express my well wishes to the soldiers.”

“Yes sir!”

Clifford instructed, “Don't send our men over to delay Nathan. Get an outsider to help out.”

“Roger!”

Meanwhile, in the Southern District of Channing.

That night, Nathan and Ava had dinner with Penny and her family.

Penny's family were grateful towards “Bay”, for he had taken care of their family's problems twice even though he had only been their bodyguard for a short period of time.

Queenie was reluctant to part with Bay. She asked, “Bay, will you be able to meet Papa upon your return to the army?”

Nathan smiled, “Yes.”

“Can you please help to bring something to him for me?”

Queenie took out a letter she had written for Nathan and said in a serious manner, “I learned how to write a letter in school today, so I wrote a letter for Papa. I want to tell Papa that Mama and I miss him a lot. Please help me pass this letter to Papa, Bay!”

Warmth filled his heart upon hearing her words.
