“General!”

“I can't believe it's actually the General!”

“Sir, the fact that we can still work under your leadership even after you've become the Chief Military Governor is great news!”

Fang was rather emotional when he made that remark.

“It is all thanks to the President's faith. He's the one who recommended me to this new position.” Nathan smiled along with delight.

“Back at the Cabinet headquarters, I suspected that it was you. I can't believe that my assumptions were correct!” Fang said.

“But General, why did you conceal your identity

when the President has already appointed you as the Chief Military Governor?” Destroyer asked in a hushed tone curiously.

“Yeah, why did you do that?” Heptakill added in; he was confused, too.

“Because there was too much opposition against me,” Nathan answered with a faint smile.

“Since President Woods is new to the position, difficult for him to suggest any reforms.

Additionally, many members of the Great Cabinet hold personal grudges against me. If they discover my true identity, I'm sure they'll be dead against me. This leaves President Woods with no other choice. I have to hide my identity and become a mysterious figure: no one can know that I am the new Chief Military Governor.”

Realization dawned upon Fang and the others.

“If the President forbids you from leaking this secret,” Fang asked hesitantly, “why are you telling us about it?”

“I regard everyone here as my sworn brothers,” Nathan replied with a warm beam. “There is no reason for me to distrust you. Furthermore, the North Army will declare war against Xyperia soon. It is only right that I am honest with my comrades. This will strengthen our bond when we fight against the enemy.”

Fang felt extremely touched. To be acknowledged as a faithful brother of the General was the highest honor he could receive.

“Please rest assured, General. Even with our lives at stake, we will carry your secret to the grave.” Fang promised sincerely with a determined glimmer in his eyes.

Nathan laughed heartily upon hearing Fang's pledge. “That won't be necessary. If you are threatened by a knife to the neck, you should just spill it. I do not wish to lose my brothers over such a small issue.”

Everyone burst into laughter at his words.

Nathan and the men proceeded to discuss the situation between the North Army and Xyperia.

Nathan raised his own cup hurriedly. “I toast to Mr. Windsor and Madam!”

The trio gulped down their drinks.

Camilla looked around the bustling surroundings. “The food and wine in this restaurant are amazing.” She smiled before addressing Nathan. “But it's a shame that it does not have any private rooms and every customer here must be served in the main hall. Nathan, I hope you won't mind the noise.”

“How could I be bothered by it?” He laughed at ease. “I enjoy this cheerful atmosphere.”

Hansel was aware that Nathan had taken on the title of Chief Military Governor and would soon lead the North Army into a ferocious battle to

prove his worth.

“When Garrett appointed you as the Chief Military Governor, you must have felt immense pressure,” He said Hansel.

“I hope you'll grasp this opportunity to prove that Garrett's decision to make you the Chief Military Governor was a wise choice. You should work hard to avoid disappointing everyone.”

“Yes Mr. Windsor!”
