Soldiers were bound by duty to obey all commands, and Colin and the Elite Eight had no choice but to step aside.

They watched with horror as Annan and his mates pounced onto Nathan within seconds.

“Die, Nathan Cross!” Annan yelled, raising his ax to bring it down upon Nathan's head.

The other fighters from Xyperia stuck their knives into the air and followed Annan closely.

However, before they could launch their attack, Nathan had already disappeared from their view.

He pulled his sword out of the ground and dashed into the crowd, the blade of his sword swishing through the air loudly.

Annan, who had been leading the charge, immediately turned into bloody chunks of flesh that fell to the ground with a sickening splat.

Before the other Xyperian fighters could react, they suffered a similar fate as their leader. All of them went down screaming as blood and innards spewed everywhere.

After slaughtering the Xyperian fighters, Nathan fell back and assumed his original position again, as though nothing had happened.

He stood there motionlessly, much like the calm and collected generals in history.

Matteo and his fighters could only stare at Nathan in utter shock.

Wasn't he poisoned? He looks perfectly finelWhat in the world? What's going to happen to us if he hadn't been poisoned?

Matteo bit his lip. “Everyone! He's the greatest threat to the peace we enjoy! He must die today, even if it means sacrificing ourselves!”

“Yes, Sir!” his men shouted. “We must kill the Chief Military Governor! He's the greatest threat to our country!”

Matteo took a deep breath. “Show him what you've got! Let's go all out and end him once and for all!”

“End him!”

The two hundred remaining fighters raised their weapons and roared, making the ground shake beneath their feet.

Matteo figured that it was time for him to lead the charge, and he did so with his sword in his hand, almost turning into a streak of lightning as he whizzed through the air.

With a loud, metallic clang, Nathan's sword landed squarely between Matteo's double daggers.

Matteo dug his feet into the dirt to steady himself as he glared at Nathan with all his might.

Boom!

Without warning, cracks began to appear under their feet as they unleashed their true strength.

Crack!

Matteo's double daggers shattered into smithereens, and Nathan went in for the kill.

His sword sliced into Matteo's head like it was a piece of cake, and his head fell apart before he could even scream in pain.

Nathan raised his leg and kicked Matteo's dead body to the side before charging forwards again with his men, trying his best to ignore the waves of fatigue that threatened to knock him unconscious.
