Not expecting Penny to be so alert, Giovanni mentally cursed his failure.

He did not allow himself to panic though. Thinking quickly, he pulled out a wallet and offered it to her with a smile. "Miss, I saw this wallet on the floor just now. I just wanted to ask you if you dropped it?"

Seeing the earnest look on his face, Penny could not tell if he was trying to bluff his way out or was he really trying to help.

She answered slowly as she was still suspicious, "That's not mine."

Nathan chose that moment to walk over. Noting her unease, he frowned as he asked, "Honey, is something wrong?"

She shook her head in reply. "No, it's probably just a misunderstanding."

After that, she turned around and continued to the washroom.

Nathan Cross turned to look at Giovanni, there was a hard look on his face as he said in a chilly tone, "Keep your dirty tricks away from her. If I ever see this again, I can assure you that you'll lose that arm of yours."

Giovanni stared at the man before him in shock. How dare he talk to me like that?

His temper flared as he glared at Nathan as he growled, "Do you know who I am? How dare you threaten me! In the South, bad things happen to anybody who dares to be so rude to me."

The words had barely left his lips when his two bodyguards arrived.

The two men stared at Nathan with blatant hostility as one of them asked Giovanni, "Mr. Russo, is everything okay?"

"Good, you two came at the right time. This person actually had the guts to threaten me. Break one of his arms for me as punishment," ordered Giovanni.

"Yes, Mr. Russo!"

The two bodyguards approached Nathan with savage smiles on their faces. "You little shit, how dare you offend Mr. Russo! You're dead!"

Nathan could not believe the audacity this man had that he actually ordered his men to beat someone up after he failed to flirt with a woman!

His eyes hardened before his leg flew out in two swift kicks. With two loud thuds, the bodyguards were sent flying several meters before they crashed to the floor. Their ribs were badly broken but they were not dead yet.

Giovanni could only stare in shock. He had spent an exorbitant amount of money to hire those two bodyguards and yet they were defeated with just two kicks from Nathan?

He blustered as he tried to cover up his fear, "How dare you attack my men! I'm Giovanni Russo of the Russo family, one of the Southern Four! If you know what's good for you, you'll break your own arm and kneel before me as you beg for mercy!"

Giovanni's broken arm was currently in a sling cast having just finished surgery. There was a furious look on his face as this was the first time something so insulting had ever happened to him.

Surrounding his bed were Jerry and a few other Russo family members. Everyone was equally enraged at the young man's misfortune.

Among the people in the room, Giovanni's uncle, Douglas Hayes, was Captain of the Reserve Guards. This made him the highest-ranking person inside the room.

Giovanni stared at his uncle as he said desperately, "Uncle, you have to help me on this."

Douglas nodded as he soothed, "I know. I'll definitely do something about this or I'll never be able to face your mother again." Then, Douglas turned to his son, William, and instructed him, 'Til leave this matter in your hands. Get revenge for your cousin"

Douglas was also working in the Armed Forces and was a commander in his own right.

His voice was low as he promised, "Dad, cousin, don't worry. I'll teach this punk a harsh lesson that he won't forget anytime soon. I will make him pay for what Giovanni's suffering and humiliation."

Douglas waved his hand at him. "Go on then. You'd better get to it now."

After he replied to his father, William left the room with his right-hand man, Harry Paine.
