Nathan returned to his hotel room.

“Hubby, where have you been?” Penny couldn't help but asked when she saw that Nathan had returned.

Nathan smiled bitterly. “I gifted Wyland Huck's abstract painting to Mr. Windsor, but his father, Horatio, thought that it was a fake and sold it at a very low price. After learning that the abstract painting was authentic, Horatio was filled with so much guilt and regret that he was sent to the hospital. I was trying to get the abstract painting back to make him feel better.”

Penny knew the man Nathan was referring to was the last president of Eurasia and also his teacher.

He was Nathan's most respected elder.

She asked anxiously, “So did you get the abstract painting back?”

Nathan shook his head. “Wyland Huck's abstract painting had been put up for auction at the Ghost Auction House. The auction is at midnight. I've already instructed Colin to get me an admission ticket to the Ghost Auction House. I will head there tonight to bid for the abstract painting.”

“Then, I'll go with you.”

After giving it some thought, Nathan nodded in agreement. “Sure. Rumor has it that the Ghost Auction House is the biggest black market in Brimmopolis and in Eurasia. They often have all kinds of exotic treasures up for auction. If there is anything that catches your eye, I will get it for you.

“Is there really a need for you to gift me presents

when we're already husband and wife?”

Nathan smiled, “Yes. Don't they all say one should find a way to romance the ordinary?”

Penny was thoroughly amused by his words.

That night, Kylie and Queenie went to bed early since the summer camp they had participated in during the day had worn them out.

11 p.m.

Dressed in an off shoulder evening gown and an exquisite diamond necklace, Penny's delicate features and slender figure made her look as elegant as a white swan.

Nathan was dressed in a white shirt and black trousers. He had a well-built physique, eyes that shone like the stars and an air of superiority.

Nathan and Penny were a match made in

heaven.

Nathan left Ava and four Elite Eight members behind to protect Queenie and Kylie; while he left with Penny, Colin and the rest of the Elite Eight members.

Three black cars cruised along the road for more than an hour before the ride came to a halt.

They all had sharp gazes, high foreheads, and thick calluses on their fists. One could easily tell that they were highly trained fighters.

Their leader looked like a ferocious beast.

He reached out to block their way and spoke in a low voice, “What are you guys doing here?”

Colin smiled. “To pray to the gods.”

He arched a brow. “To pray to the gods or to pray to the ghosts?”

“To pray to the gods and to the ghosts.”

Nathan and Penny exchanged glances. They realised Colin was exchanging code words with the man.

Sure enough, his tone softened after hearing Collin's words.

He smiled. “It looks like you guys are here for the auction tonight. Can I see your admission tickets please?”

Colin handed him a wooden badge with the words 'No restrictions dealing in the Ghost Auction House' carved on the front, and a picture of ghosts floating around carved into the back of the badge.
