At the Cosmos Suite.
“Papa, is this the employees' hostel? Are we staying here tonight?” Queenie asked curiously.
Nathan replied with a smile, “Yes. Recently, there are some bad guys constantly trying to mess with me. Queenie, it's better if you stop going to the summer camp for your safety. For the next couple of days, you'll be staying here with your Mama and your Aunt Kylie. If you want to go out, ask Ava and Colin to accompany you.”
Meanwhile, Kylie was clinging to Penny, asking in a low voice, “Penny, I didn't know Nathan now works in the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor. What post is he holding? How come he's in such a grand and luxurious hostel?”
Penny curled her lips into a smile. “Nathan is now the Chief Military Governor's assistant, so he receives better treatment and living accommodation benefit.”
Kylie nodded. Ah, no wonder he lives in such a nice place.
It was past eleven when Nathan finally settled his family in.
After that, he headed to the study instead of going to bed.
Colin and Sage were already waiting for him.
“Greetings, Chief Military Governor!” both of them greeted Nathan.
Nathan took a seat on the chair before he asked, “How are things going?”
Sage spoke up, “Sir, Shae and the others were executed on the spot. We have set it as a case of a confidential nature as per your order. Only you and the President have access to this file.”
Nathan nodded approvingly. “Great!”
Sage continued speaking, “The Davier family has sent some gifts. Valois has also come in person to apologize for Shae, but I've sent him away.”
Then, it was Colin's turn to report to Nathan. “Sir, we found out that those people at the KFC outlet were all Scout Davier's subordinates from Beacon Security.”
Scout Davier!
Nathan had heard of this person before.
Furrowing his brows, he uttered, “I heard this person is the national security advisor for dozens of small countries in the West. Not only does he hold a high status, but he also owns a strong mercenary force. Yet he hasn't returned to Eurasia for more than twenty years. He's back in the country now?”
Colin replied, “Yes, Sir. I suppose he learned about the rivalry between you and the Davier family, and he was back to seek revenge against you. He and his subordinates are now living in the Islesbury Club. Should we go and meet him?”
Nathan said coldly, “Since he wanted to kill me, I'll give him an opportunity then. Tell him I'll show up at the Islesbury Club tomorrow afternoon. Ask him to be prepared for his death.”
“Yes, Sir!” Colin answered.
“Nathan Cross! How dare you kill my subordinates! I swear I will kill you and all of your men!” His voice was spine-chilling.
He turned to face Mojo and his other subordinates. “Where is Nathan Cross?”
An eerie silence ensued as they traded glances with each other. Eventually, Mojo took a step forward and replied, “I suppose he is still living at Crystal Hotel.”
Scout decided to seek revenge on Nathan at Crystal Hotel. Just as he was about to gather his men, the club manager suddenly came rushing in.
The manager found Mojo and whispered a few words in the latter's ears.
Mojo's expression morphed drastically upon hearing the news. He quickly told Scout, “Scout, Nathan has a few words for you.”
Scout was rather surprised. “Is he begging for mercy, knowing that he is now in big trouble? Tell me, what did he say?”
Mojo bit the bullets as he answered, “Nathan said he will be here at noon tomorrow to grant you your death wish. He asked you to be prepared for your death.”
What?
Hearing that, Scout simmered with anger. “Well, well, I'll be here waiting for him. Tomorrow will be the end of him!”
