Back in Channing, Eurasia, when Franklin found out that Nathan was already back in the city, he immediately invited him over to Cloud Palace for a meal.

Franklin had chosen to meet Nathan at Cloud Palace because he knew the owner of the restaurant was Thomas, and that Thomas was close to Nathan.

Nathan accepted his invitation readily. Although Franklin no longer worked directly under him anymore, Nathan was now the Chief Military Governor and he oversaw all the armies, so in a way, Franklin was still his subordinate.

Besides, Nathan was grateful to Thomas for taking meticulous care of Benson and Leah while he was away. Now that he was finally back in Channing, he wanted to meet up with Thomas.

Nathan brought Penny, Queenie, Kylie, Colin, and Ava to Cloud Palace, while Benson and Leah stayed back since they preferred eating at home.

Leah made two simple dishes for dinner and got a bottle of beer.

Just as the two were about to sit down and eat, the doorbell rang.

“Who could it be? It's already so late!” Benson asked as he put down his cutlery.

"I'll go get it,” Leah said as she got up and headed toward the door.

She swung the door opened curiously and froze. Right in front of her was a dazzling young man dressed in a white suit. He was tall and his complexion was fair. From his looks and aura, one could easily tell he came from a distinguished family.

Yet there was something foreboding about this man. There was a glimmer of evil in his foxy and slender eyes, making it difficult to read his thoughts.

Behind him, was a group of men—each of them exuding a repressive vibe.

Leah swallowed hard. “What do y'all want?”

Benson instantly sensed something was off and came over. “Who is it?”

Before Leah could answer him, Benson saw the group of menacing men standing at their door.

And right in front of Leah, was Wilmer Yorke.

A subtle and yet threatening smile curved on his lips when he saw Benson. He carried himself in a gentlemanly and polite manner, yet there was an air of loftiness in his bearing.

Wilmer's lips parted, showing a set of white teeth as he laughed. “Do you think we're afraid of the guards? Or the police?”

A burly and imposing man instantly came forward from behind and stood beside Wilmer.

Johnny was one of Wilmer's best fighters.

Seeing Wilmer's approving nod, Johnny reached out his hands and grabbed Benson and Leah by their necks, and lifted them from the ground.

Their faces contorted in pain as their legs kicked helplessly in the air. No matter how they struggled to free themselves from Johnny, their efforts were to no avail.

Behind Johnny, Wilmer's voice resounded again. “I'm here to get Ms. Camden and Nathan. I'll spare you if you tell me where they are. But if you refuse to cooperate, then too bad. I'll send you off before you can even have your last meal.”

Benson and Leah did not say a single word. They were already choking for breath as Johnny's grip tightened around their necks, but they knew they would do everything they could to protect their family.

Just as they were on the verge of passing out, a low and commanding voice pierced through the air. “Hands off!
