Of the Giselle stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is Salute To The General (Nathan Cross). The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to Chapter 229 Leave In The Lurch. Let's read the author's Salute To The General (Nathan Cross) Giselle story right here.
Sylvie Larson fell onto the sofa and trembled with fear.
How could I be caught within such a short span of time?
How did Nathan Cross and Penny Smith mobilize all the television stations to refute the rumors and broadcast all my crimes?
What kind of abilities do they possess?
Even Jerry Zabinski and Giovanni Russo were dumbfounded. How did Nathan Cross do this?
Jerry was the first one to regain his composure and exclaimed, "I think Nathan Cross is just faking it. I don't think he has conducted any investigation before jumping to the conclusion that you were the mastermind."
Giovanni echoed, "That's right. After all, you didn't follow his instructions to issue a public apology, and Penny Smith's doctored photos appeared on television instead. Of course Nathan Cross could guess that you were the one behind it."
Jerry nodded. "Yes, I am very sure that he must have just guessed it. He would need some supernatural ability to be able to investigate everything thoroughly in just a few minutes. There is no way he could be that capable."
With a trembling voice, Sylvie said, "But, every single television station in the country right now is refuting the rumors. How could Nathan Cross do this if not for his immense influence and power?"
This was something that Giovanni could not figure out as well, so he turned to Jerry.
Jerry had a slight smile on his face as if he had already figured out everything. "It wasn't Nathan Cross's ability that made all the television stations take action at once," he said as he sneered.
Both Jerry and Sylvie were befuddled and Sylvie asked anxiously, "What do you mean?"
Jerry began to analyze the situation confidently, "Based on my knowledge, the person in charge of the Channing Television Station, Maja Ivanov, was transferred here from the North. Apparently, she comes from quite a distinguished background and is not here because of her ability. Now that the channel was hacked with the broadcast of Penny Smith's doctored photos, it definitely must have infuriated Maja. I'm guessing that Maja used her family connections to clarify this incident with all of the television stations."
Giovanni felt that Jerry's analysis made a lot of sense.
Sylvie's face fell and she could only place her final hope on Jerry.
While she was the mastermind, Jerry was the one who found the hacker who hacked the television channel. There was no way that Jerry could leave her at the lurch like that.
However, Jerry looked completely detached and said coldly, "Sylvie, it's not that I don't want to save you. However, now that this has blown up, someone has to bear the consequences. In my opinion, you are the perfect candidate."
Sylvie croaked, "Mr. Zabinski, how could you say that? Yes, I came up with the idea, but you were the one who got the hacker to hack the television station..."
Before she could finish speaking, she saw the vicious look in Jerry's eyes. That scared her into immediate silence.
With his family's influence, he could easily wipe out the Larsons and even kill her!
