With a flourish, Nathan pulled out a folder and handed it to Penny.

There was a grin on his face as he said, "The mayor felt like the plot of land at Phoenix has no potential to be a tourist attraction, which is why they changed it to development land just now. Look, these are the relevant documents."

Everyone was taken aback at his words.

Feeling joy bubble in her yet not daring to hope, Penny took the folder. "Really?"

"I'll never lie to you, Penn," Nathan replied with a warm smile.

Very quickly, she finished reading through all the documents. Elated, she said tearfully, "Oh my god! You really weren't lying. We can really build our factory in Phoenix. Thank goodness!"

Gaping, the Smiths rushed over and surrounded her, jostling each other as they tried to read the documents for themselves.

Once they had confirmed for themselves the plot of land at Phoenix had become development land, they were absolutely dumbfounded.

If the land had remained an ecological reserve, it would not be worth much from an economical point of view. Even selling it at the low price of five hundred million would not have netted any interest.

However, if it was designated as development land and could be developed...

It was worth two billion at the least!

Having sold it for one billion a few days ago, that would mean Sean was suffering a net loss of one billion.

The Smiths' faces were ugly as they realized what they had let slip through their fingers. Regret was too mild a word for what they were currently feeling.

Deciding to bite the bullet, Sean spoke up, "Penny, could we cancel our deal? I'll give you back your money and you can return

me the land?"

Scoffing, Penny did not even hesitate for a second as she refused, "No!"

"Besides, there was no point in keeping that plot of land as an ecological reserve when there's zero potential for it to be a tourist attraction. Might as well turn it into development land and build a factory on it. That way, at least some use comes of the location."

At his explanation, a look of realization appeared on her face.

Who knew the mayor was so considerate of local companies?

She shot him a dazzling smile as she said, "Well, the credit for all this goes to you. If it were not for you contacting the mayor so quickly, this matter would not have been resolved so easily."

After arriving back at the company, Penny was quick to call a meeting with all the executives to tell them the good news. The dark cloud that had been hanging over the company vanished and everyone cheered.

They had all thought the company was doomed as they were cheated into buying a useless piece of land. In a surprising twist of events, the land was going to become one of their most profitable businesses instead.

When news got out about how the company had bought a piece of land worth two billion for only one billion, the company shares would definitely explode again.

With the issue of the land resolved, it was time to prepare for the construction of the pharmaceutical factory.
