Nathan Cross just gave Colin Dunne the order to find Penny Smith when his phone rang.

It was a phone call from Terrence Ortiz. "Both of them, your right-hand man, Thomas Dunn, and your wife, Penny Smith, are now at my mercy, Nathan Cross." He laughed sinisterly.

"Come to the slaughterhouse if you want them back alive. If you bring anyone else, you will see their corpses instead.

Remember that."

"I'm coming over right now. You are so going to regret this," Nathan replied in an icy tone.

Terrence Ortiz snorted and laughed out loud, "Regret? You will be the one regretting it tonight. How dare you go against us Southern Four and Mr. Turner!"

"Well, we could consider sparing you and your wife if you cooperate and transfer the manufacturing rights to the liver cancer vaccine to us obediently."

Nathan Cross was about to say something when Penny Smith's voice came from the phone. She sounded anxious, "Don't fall for that, Nathan! They were just discussing how to kill you after you hand over the manufacturing rights to the vaccine!"

"Please don't come for me, honey. Don't bother about me, just call the police." Penny started sobbing over the phone.

"Manage the company well and take care of your parents and our daughter, please don't risk your life by coming here..."

"Shit! Why didn't you seal her lips with tape?" Zucker Johnson cursed angrily.

Terrence Ortiz was enraged when his plot was uncovered. "How loyal is your wife to you, Nathan Cross. I'll give you 20 minutes to turn up. If you don't, I'll rape her before killing her!" He threatened loudly over the phone.

Zucker Johnson was afraid that their plan to kill Nathan Cross would fail if he didn't turn up. "Ya, we will only keep her safe for another half an hour. Arrive later than that and you shall live in regret forever!" He added before hanging up on Nathan Cross.

Nathan turned pale as he held on to the phone. "Tell Colin Dunne that I'm going to the slaughterhouse right now!" He ordered Quinten and Juan.

It was in the middle of the night at the slaughterhouse.

The moon and the stars were absent from the night sky as dark clouds loomed over the horizon. Now and then, lightning flashed across the sky, accompanied by the rumbling sound of thunder.

Madeline Lynch, also known as Black Lady, chimed in, "Nathan Cross isn't going to turn up definitely. With Penny Smith dead, he will inherit her company as her husband. Who knows if he is actually over the moon and celebrating right now? How stupid we are to think that he will risk his own life for Penny Smith!"

Right after that, Madeline Lynch signaled Terrence Ortiz with a look.

Terrence understood what she was getting at. He turned to the tied-up Penny Smith and threatened her, "I'm afraid that Nathan Cross won't be coming, Ms. Smith. Misfortune tests the sincerity of friends, they say. Well, you are now in deep trouble, but your husband isn't here to save you. Is it really worth sacrificing yourself for him?"

Zucker Johnson chimed in, "Ya, why not you hand over the manufacturing rights to the liver cancer vaccine to us? Your death will only be a convenience to that moron husband of yours."

"If you hand the manufacturing rights over, we may be able to offer you some money, isn't that nice?" Terrence Ortiz continued.

"I know what you are trying to do. I'm not letting you sow discord between Nathan and I," Penny Smith replied coldly.

"He's kind and determined. He's so caring to his family and friends. He is and will never be the moron that you want me to believe!”
