Penny told everything to Nathan without sparing a single detail.
When he finished listening, Nathan's face sank. "This Kayden Cook is too cocky," he said frigidly.
"He's using our company's vaccine products to fill his own pockets, yet he doesn't want to pay off his debts, even going so far as to beating people up."
The truth was, the thing that pissed Nathan off the most was that Kayden
Cook had lecherous thoughts about Penny.
"I wanted to take legal action against him, but he told me he had people in the court and the procuratorate," Penny stated with a frown.
"He said he had close ties with Peter Russo, so there's no use for us to sue him."
Peter Russo?
A smile formed on Nathan's face. "Honey, take dad to the hospital. I'll deal with this situation."
"I promise that he'll come crying and begging dad for forgiveness, then return all the money he owes to our company."
Figuring it was impossible, everyone in the office shook their heads simultaneously.
Kayden Cook was a scoundrel, a rude and brazen deadbeat.
He was also familiar with the people in the court and the procuratorate. It would already be good enough if Nathan were to be able to collect even a fragment of what Kayden Cook owes.
As for Kayden returning the full amount of money and begging for forgiveness from Benson, it would be nothing short of a fantasy.
Nathan smiled again. "We'll see.”
Penny and Jenny accompanied Benson to the hospital to treat his injuries.
Nathan also left the company. He went to the restaurant opposite their company and called the Mayor of Channing, Russell
Crow.
Russell Crow was horrified when he received the call from Nathan. He greeted Nathan with respect and fear, "Mr. Cross, do you need anything?"
Nathan smiled and spoke, "Nothing much. I'm just inviting you over for some tea."
Tea!
Russell shivered when he heard this. In the public sector, there was nothing positive about inviting someone over for tea.
For instance, inviting someone over for tea at the police station or the Department of Justice - these were not things that people looked forward to.
Now that Nathan Cross was inviting him over for tea, he was frightened out of his wits.
Nathan added, "I'm at the Rose restaurant. When you come here, bring the attorney general Peter Russo with you."
Russell Crow was stunned when he heard Nathan's words. He vaguely guessed that this incident must have something to do with Peter Russo.
For all he knew, Peter Russo might have offended the General.
Give me your orders, Mr. Cross."
Nathan asked casually, "I heard that you're quite close to Kayden Cook?"
Peter's eyes widened when he heard this. His face displayed a mix of emotions.
He was indeed good friends with Kayden. He knew that the Cross Group had tried to sue Kayden several times, but he had waved them off each time.
He had helped Kayden a lot, and Kayden even treated him to dinner yesterday as appreciation.
Now the General was asking about his relationship with Kayden Cook. What was going on?
Peter was perturbed and quickly disassociated their relationship, "I am acquainted with him, but I don't know him well."
Nathan quirked his lips. "That's not what Kayden Cook said. He said you guys were practically brothers."
Peter was terrified. He abruptly denied, "No, no, I've only just met him before.
We're not even friends, let alone brothers.”
Nathan smiled, "But the Cross Group has tried to sue Kayden Cook for not paying his debts multiple times before and have never succeeded. I've heard that you were the one who rejected those cases."
"Furthermore, even Kayden Cook himself has said that he has people in the court and the procuratorate. You're the one who's covering for him."
