The Only One Series novel Chapter 18

I heard the two bikes pull up to the clubhouse. I watched as they turned them off and got off. I waited for Tanner to enter the clubhouse. I needed to see his face. He walked in and I asked? Did you give him the letter? I saw the sadness in his eyes. No, please tell him he changed his mind I said with tears running down my face. Five years. I waited for five years. He came to see me after I was rescued and he left me this gift. I thought he really wanted me after all. I can't do this anymore.

We all watched her run out the back door and towards the woods. Fuck, go get her and bring her back. All the men ran out the door but I was fast. I had already scouted the woods and had a good hiding place. I covered my tracks and ran to an old cabin that was deep in the woods. I had slowly fixed it up and it was cozy and warm. I hoped they did not know about it. I locked the door and windows and closed the curtains. I lay on the bed holding my stomach. I love you little one but mommy can't raise you.

I was gone for three days and nights before three prospects found the cabin. They kicked the door in and took me back to the clubhouse. I went without arguing because I had no life left in me. I just did as I was told. I ate when they told me to. I bathed when they told me to. I went to bed when they told me to but I did not talk, or laugh anymore. I was getting close to my due date but I didn't care. Tanner tried to talk to me, get me to participate in activities go out to eat with him but I stayed in my room.

I was in my office when my VP walked in. She has lost the will to live Tanner. She just lays on that bed staring at the wall or ceiling. She can't go on like this. Doc said he thinks she will die in childbirth if she continues to go on this way. I know that I said. But there is nothing I can do. Gunner made up his mind. He doesn't seem to care. Unless you call him and tell him she is going to die in childbirth if he doesn't claim her.
