The Only One Series novel Chapter 24

I looked at Gunner shocked. No one yelled at Gunner like that accept his mother or sister and got away with it. That tiny little woman had just not only stood up to Gunner but screamed at him and told him what she thought about him. I looked closer at Gunner and saw a twinkle in his eyes. Wait, he was amused about her yelling at him? Gunner, why are you grinning because you never grin unless it is at Fawn or Zander? For a minute I really thought she was Lana. The same attitude Lana had when something really annoyed her.

I was about to turn away from Gunner when I saw the change. He was sad. Gunner, you really don't think Lana would think those things, do you? Looking at the floor before I looked at Diamond and said in a low voice "yes, I do because at the time it was true." I watched him walk out the door and over to sit on his bike before he started it and rode away. I couldn't believe that. I saw how he is with Fawn and Zander. He loves those kids more than his own bike and that is saying something.

I need to investigate and find out what I can before I make my mind up about all of this. I can't believe that Gunner would not want Lana. But then again I have never heard her talked about in the club. If Lana had lived at the clubhouse people would mention her now and then at least ask Gunner if she was awake yet. Then I stopped and thought. Come to think of it he never leaves the club to visit her or take Fawn and Zander to see their mother. We have a mystery here. I need to ask Animal after all he is the VP and known Gunner since they were kids. He would have known Lana. I walked to the door turned off the lights and closed and locked the door.

I arrived back at the club and parked my bike. I walked into the club and straight to my office. I didn't even say hello to Animal as I walked by. I had walked over to my desk and opened the bottom drawer took out a glass and bottle of whiskey. Just as I poured a bit in the glass my office door opened and Animal walked in carrying two beers. What the hell is going on Gunner you just walked right past every one not saying one word. Have a seat and I will tell you.

As Animal sat down and put one of the beers on my desk I told him what happened at Diamond's shop. Wow, that woman sure hit pretty close to home with her reply to you. If she is not Lana then I will do what Diamond wants when she wants for a month without arguing with her. I looked at Animal and asked. Do you think Leigh is Lana too? I thought for a moment and said I sure do. She has the same mannerisms as Lana, She sounds like Lana and she has her attitude and carries herself like Lana. I do have a question though. Didn't Lana have a tattoo on her leg of a wolf with a dream catcher?

I watched as Gunner sits up in his chair. She does. But Leigh always wears jeans. Grinning I said. Maybe we should have a cookout and invite Leigh to come swimming and games at the beach. Then we can see her in shorts and a swimsuit. Good idea. Let's have it this weekend and get Diamond to invite her. You talk to Diamond and have her call and ask Leigh if she would like to come.

Animal opened his cell phone and called Diamond. Hi, honey how are you? On my way home. Gunner wants to have a cook out this weekend at the beach. He wants you to invite Leigh. After what happened today at the shop between Gunner and Leigh I doubt she would come. Well try will you? Sure I will call her when I get to the club. Love you babe. See you when you get home.
