Yorick

By the time we get back to the Academy, my brother’s warriors have arrived with my things. Cyra and I help them unpack and I thank them before they head back home. Rather than waste time unpacking, I take Cyra to her room, strip her down and remind her that she’s mine and will always be mine.

When I feel that I’ve sufficiently worn my mate out, I hop up out of bed.

“Where are you going?” she murmurs, snuggling into the bed.

“Time to get some dinner. Plus, I can’t wait to see our friends. Come on, get up. You need to eat because I’m not done with you yet,” I say, watching as her eyes open and lock onto mine.

“You really are insatiable, aren’t you?” she asks.

“For you? Absolutely. It’s a Hill trait. None of the men in my family can get enough of their mates,” I grin.

She raises an eyebrow. “It looks like the females may also have a Hill trait of making their mates want them all the time as well, if Alpha Quirin is any indication. He’s very intense,” she says as she crawls out of bed. I stroke my fingers over her sensitive nipples, listening to her soft gasp as I watch them harden under my touch.

“Yeah, I’ll definitely be getting more of you later,” I murmur, before pulling her into a kiss, pushing all my love and desire for her into the kiss.

I don’t release her until she’s whimpering and clinging to me. Then, I pull back and grin down at her.

“Let’s go, Temptress,” I say, smacking her ass.

She yips and jolts, then narrows her eyes at me. “I’m the temptress? I believe you were the one kissing me,” she says.

“And I’m the one who is going to be eating you later,” I growl in her ear, making her entire body tremble for me. Oh, how I’ve missed my mate.

When we’re dressed, I take her hand, and we walk to the dining hall.

As soon as we step in, our friends call out to us.

“Hey!”

“You’re back!”

“I knew they couldn’t keep a good Shakespeare down!”

I notice Katelynn is missing and I look around, surprised to see her sitting with Megan and her posse.

“What’s up with Katelynn?” I ask as Cyra and I go get food.

“Hacker realized that she was sleeping with Talek and warned us about her. She got huffy and left, but now she’s not bothering to try and hide their relationship,” Cyra says.

“Why? Why was she pretending to be friends with us?” I ask.

“Intel, we think. I’m sure Megan is up to something, but we haven’t been able to figure out what it is. Of course, we had other important things going on. But just know you need to watch your back with her.”

“Duly noted,” I say, piling my plate high with food and waiting for Cyra before joining our friends.

Zach, Chase, and Landon all get up and give me hugs, slapping me on the back. Piper grins up at me. “Welcome back.”

“Thank you, it’s good to be back.”

Over dinner, Cyra and I tell them about what happened in court.

“Damn, that Tech Team is serious,” Landon says.

“Yep. They joined us for lunch,” I begin.

“Us?” Piper asks, looking at Cyra.

“Yorick’s entire family was there,” Cyra says in a way that my sisters do when there’s an unspoken conversation happening that I’m not privy to.

Piper’s eyebrow goes up. “How did that go?” she asks.

“Cyra fit in perfectly,” I say, putting my arm around her and kissing the side of her head.

“They are all very nice and they’re all willing to go to war against Alpha Christer.”

“That’s really good news,” Zach says, looking from Cyra to me.

“Yes. I mean, I told Cyra they would, but I don’t think she believed me,” I say, looking at her.

“You aren’t the Alpha of those packs, Yorick. I wasn’t sure the others would agree that my dilemma was worth fighting for. But Yorick didn’t exaggerate how wonderful his family is. They really are great,” she says, smiling up at me.
