I picked up my lunch tray and started to make my way to the lunch table. I smiled when I saw Danielle waving animatedly in my direction.
A familiar voice suddenly caught my attention.
"I spent last night at Hunter's." I cringed when I heard Nichole speak.
My head automatically turned in her direction only to find that she was already looking at me. She sneered as soon as our eyes met.
"Just ignore her" I silently kept chanting in my head.
I took in a deep breath and started to walk past her.
Her foot lashed out and kicked my ankle. I screamed as I crashed to the ground. My lunch spilling all over my clothes and the floor.
"Oops." Nichole chuckled coldly.
I looked up at her in disbelief.
She crouched down so we were at eye level. Her voice was low as she spoke.
"Listen here you bitch. This is nothing. You have no idea about what I'm capable of. If you ever try to come between me and Hunter I'll make sure you regret it for the rest of your life. Hunter is mine."
My hands curled into fists as I glared at her.
"Oh and one more thing." Nichole smiled sweetly as she straightened up.
It happened so fast that I had no time to react. She grabbed a can of raspberry soda from the nearest table and tipped it over my head.
"You forgot to get soda with your lunch." She laughed.
I could feel the humiliation weighing me down.
I slowly got to my feet. I could hear people whispering, laughing.
They were laughing at me.
Suddenly my eyes locked with a pair of familiar grey ones. Hunter. My breathing stilled.
Say something Hunter.
Do something.
I silently pleaded.
I held my breath.
My eyes were still locked with his.
Please Hunter.
