Maxwell Lawrence was completely crushed on the ground. His body instantly turned into a pulp. Even his soul couldn’t escape in time.
The turning of tables had happened too quickly. Before Alex Rockefeller could even register it, Maxwell had already died.
“Ah! You… You actually killed him?” Alex started to frown.
‘This is a huge mess!‘ Alex thought.
“He was going to kill me. Was I supposed just to let him kill me? If I hadn’t spared a few tricks up my sleeves to protect myself, I’d have died long ago! That’s why you need to toughen up quickly! Otherwise, this Peak-Nascent Soul would be able to kill you a hundred times over,” Yuno said nonchalantly.
“I’m going to put the corpse away first. Otherwise, the blood will seep into the floor panels. It’ll be difficult to clean up,” Alex said.
Alex put his clothes on and was about to keep Maxwell’s corpse in a storage bag when another person unexpectedly entered through the window.
This time, it was Nora Stewart.
At this moment, Nora’s eyes widened as she stared at the pulp of blood and flesh on the ground… However, she could still see the corpse’s body clearly. Also, she very quickly retrieved an identity card nearby to check if this pulp of blood and flesh belonged to Maxwell.
“Alex, did you kill Maxwell?” Nora asked.
“Ehh… This isn’t…” Alex wanted to say that he wasn’t the one who killed Maxwell. However, sensing Yuno’s gaze, he realized that Yuno’s identity was top secret. He couldn’t let anybody else find out. Hence, he stopped himself from speaking just in time.
Meanwhile, Nora instinctively felt that Alex wanted to deny that the corpse belonged to Maxwell. She held the identity card up.
“Do you know what this is? Everyone in Flying Eagles has a card like this. It’s convenient for us to identify who the person is after they’re dead, even if they’ve been completely disfigured. This person is Maxwell.”
“Oh!” Alex exclaimed.
“What sort of reaction is that? This person is Maxwell Lawrence, the most adored son of the left-wing lieutenant. Luna Flores’ mother, who is your lover, has put in a lot of effort to help Maxwell grow. In the end, you killed him! Do you know how much trouble you’ve gotten yourself into?” Nora’s face had turned pale from shock.
“Nora, what do you thinkI should’ve done? He wanted to kill me. Was I supposed just to let him chop my head off?” Alex asked.
“That’s because you’re lying!” Alex exclaimed.
Nora looked into Alex’s holy eyes that shone as bright as lightning. Although she wanted to continue lying, she found it hard to do so without changing her facial expression.
In the end, she admitted to the accusation. “That’s right. I lured him here.”
Alex’s gaze turned cold. He was already considering whether Yuno could kill this woman! However, when Alex looked at Yuno, he discovered that she had passed out on the bed.
‘D*mn it! I can’t count on her during such key moments!’
‘I can’t defeat this evil woman on my own!’
Alex was thinking of ways to escape, but Nora started speaking. “But I didn’t want him to come and kill you! My sister did!”
