Alex stood still on the ghost shark, taken aback by her words.
‘She’s calling me her darling now.’
‘Is this Holy Maiden still sane? Did she bump her head or something?’
‘That’s not her style, though?!’
Seeing the two peacocks closing up on Ynes, he took a leap and dropped right in front of her. Standing on the ocean water, he pointed the Golden Spear at the peacocks and turned to Ynes. “Get on the shark first.”
Ynes didn’t dare to get up since it was indeed an Undead beast. Its appearance was just way too ugly.
The two peacocks turned pale once again.
“Wow. Real great! As a human, you’re hanging out with those Undead beasts. You prick! You’re a one in a million traitor! A parasite!” a peacock shouted.
“I’m not in the mood to debate with you. I’d just like to use your bodies to sharpen my tool.” Alex said, then ordered the shark, “Sharkie, protect this shameless brat! And help me out if I can’t defeat them.”
Ynes was extremely annoyed, never expecting Alex to call her a shameless brat. ‘What a jerk! I only ended like this because of you…’
She had been experiencing the worst treatment in Western Ridge for the past few days. She had to suffer things she never had to before. She just couldn’t accept the fact that she was insulted out of the blue.
Everyone else was calling her an unloyal wh*re who cheated on her own fiancé.
She had tried explaining with all her might, but no one wanted to listen. In the end, she decided to just go with it, telling everyone that Alex was her childhood friend. She also said that they had decided to marry each other long before Donovan proposed to her. In the end, Donovan had to force the Yorkshire Palace into complying. Hence, her clan chickened out, arranging her marriage with the Sun Shrine and sacrificing her love life.
However, wanting to fight for her love, she was unwilling to obey her clan. She wouldn’t marry anyone else but Alex. She didn’t care if she died from this. It didn’t matter as long as she could be with Alex in the afterlife.
By employing this messy story, several people actually showed their sympathy and commended her courage. Those who longed for love or youths madly in love empathized with her as well. All of them started supporting Ynes, and their attitudes towards her completely changed.
Hence, it was unsurprising that she called Alex her darling when she saw him.
Alex used the Ultimate Book of Medicine to calm his blood energy down. He knew that he was biting off more than he could chew. He was overconfident after his power improved, thinking he could break a whole universe with just one punch.
However, a mere Immortal snapped him back to reality.
‘Immortals really are pretty strong!’
Moreover, peacocks had the blood of ancient divine beasts, their bodies naturally strong. Since they were quite an old clan as well, they had myriad talents and skills. Without the help of the Seventy two Heavenly Immortal-slaying Formation, it would be quite hard to handle them.
With this, Alex was able to find out even more about just how horrifying the formation was.
“What did I do to her? Do you guys not know yet? I cooked her alive!”
“Don’t worry, you two would follow in her footsteps as well!”
Since he was forcefully enduring this, all 499 of his golden cores were activated at full power, making him rush over immediately. His current speed was just too quick. A mere step was able to bring him straight to where the Peacocks were standing.
