It would seem that the attack had failed. Alex realized he had underestimated the woman dressed in black.
She could actually recover from Medusa’s freezing gaze in such a short amount of time?
In the next second, there was a loud explosion.
Mystic Maiden had fired Arash’s bow, the arrow, hitting straight in the woman’s chest and exploding. As the debris cleared, they could see that the woman’s black blouse had been torn. A bowl-size hole appeared in her chest, showing the singed, tar-black flesh.
Her chest had been torn open by Mystic Maiden’s arrow, and it dripped with dark green liquid.
It was entirely out of their expectations.
‘Is she still human?’
“Such a chilling and evil aura!” Mystic Maiden said.
“Is this thing still human?” Luneth couldn’t stand it.
Turning into a skeleton upon arrival of the Underworld had already given her the chills. Still, such hideousness right in front of her eyes went way beyond her level of acceptance. She’d never seen anything so disgusting in her life.
“If I were to turn into such a state, I’d rather die.”
“Then die!” The woman was furious and howled loudly.
She waved her hand aggressively and delivered a deadly hit that sent Alex and the others flying. Luneth and Immortal Bird shouted in pain. They somersaulted several times in the air and landed in the sea. The attack almost wiped out their souls.
Alex and Mystic Maiden didn’t fare any better either. They were curled up in a ball, their armors breaking, as their ribs clattered against one another.
“Argh, your intercostal space is too small, I’m stuck!”
“How’s that my fault? Why are your ribs so thick?”
“What should we do? I can’t get it out!”
The woman glanced at them and snickered coldly. “Trialists are really getting weaker by the generation. I don’t even have the desire to eat you.”
With that, she turned over and looked at the tied-up American lady. “Your companion looked tastier. If you call him over, I don’t mind giving you another chance at life.”
The lady shook her head. “Don’t even think about it, you’ll never find him.”
Alex was confused, unable to understand anything from their conversation, let alone the entire situation. He asked, “Who are you guys?”
“She’s the Corpse King’s daughter!”
A voice could suddenly he heard. Someone was rushing over from the vast sea, and under his feet was a golden boat. The person arriving was a young man. He had defined facial features and looked like an undeniably handsome gentleman.
“Oh no, honey, please leave immediately! She’ll kill you,” the lady shouted in anxiety.
“Mandy, you know very well that I won’ I leave without you!” The man’s words sounded like a proclamation of love.
