“What? A dead end?” Claudia turned to look. Their road wasn’t blocked, but another truck size bug was coming from there. Around it was countless smaller bugs.
“Sh*t, we’re surrounded. What do we do?” Freya asked in a trembling voice.
Luna pulled her sister down. “Don’t act dead. Come fight the bugs with us. You’re a descendant of Exorcist Dragons, and you’re scared of bugs? That’s bringing shame to our clan.”
Alex said, “Attack them! You guys follow me!”
Thump!
The Requiem Clock appeared, and waves of holy energy rippled as the clock levitated over Alex. A golden barrier of divine energy then covered everyone. Alex’s left hand held the sheath while his right held a sword gourd. Hundreds of wind blades and light crossed one another, forming a tightly knitted blade web, rotating into the sea of bugs like a blender.
“I’ll help!” Luna kept away her whip and took out the Sky-Devil Zither.
Tring! Tring!
The sound of the zither was deadly, and the sound waves were able to trigger an explosion.
Freya’s powers had significantly improved too. Her mother, Martiny, had brought her to the Dragon Palace once, a hidden place where Exorcist Dragons trained and refined their powers. Freya’s attacks were similar to spells, and the wind was her forte. Thanks to her strong and powerful skill sets, she was a big help.
Freya gathered the whole infestation into a tornado, so Alex and Luna could easily attack the entire thing.
Boom!
Alex brought all his swords together and made them one, killing one of the queen insects with one attack. From its mouth, poisonous thread spewed out like a fountain. Toxic yellow liquid oozed out from its body. The venom was so potent that even the tinier bugs couldn’t stand it. As they came into contact with the raucous liquid, the bugs melted into an ivory solution, which also happened to be poisonous.
With that, the venom flowed towards them like a river stream. Poisonous yellow smoke appeared wherever it passed.
Their attire was similar to the man before, but their faces gave off an uncomfortable vibe. Pockmarked and scarred, the skin looked as though it had been corroded several times by sulfuric acid. Their flesh was shaped irregularly, where colored pieces were scattered all over their faces.
“Argh! These two look so scary!” Freya couldn’t help but scream.
The others shuddered as well. After laying their eyes on them, one would naturally be scared, especially the prettier ladies. Seeing such faces made them think of themselves. If something like that were to happen to their beautiful faces, they would rather die.
Alex exclaimed, “It’s the human locusts!”
As they spoke, the two women took out a bag each and opened them, releasing two golden, rather poisonous bugs.
“Go! Kill them!”
