All three thousand of his Nascent Souls vibrated with glee, eager to get their hands on the fruit. On the other hand, Pigsy was drooling so much that it left a pool of saliva on the ground. It urged Alex to open up the boundary, unable to wait any longer.
“Alright, I can try. Stand back!”
“Yes, yes, anything you ask, bro. I may be unable to do many things, but I’m still a pretty good errand pig.”
For the fruits, Pigsy even started acting like a servant.
Alex replied. “Stand guard, and don’t let anyone notice you. Every single person here is as strong as a beast. It’d be a piece of cake to kill hundreds of you.”
Pigsy had no opinions and immediately went on high alert.
Alex stared at the boundary and tested some methods. With that, he obtained some basic information. Based on this boundary’s structure, it might have been set by the same person who placed the formations within the Troop Raising Pond. Compared to the pond, this was much more complicated. There were layers upon layers of formations as if the person was being extra careful with it.
‘Looks like Pigsy really did find some good treasure.’ Alex thought as he started breaking open the boundary.
At the time, he was rather happy about the items he obtained from those five ‘l‘ricksters. He could also make use of the ten thousand formation flags… It seemed that the flags were made to open this boundary.
Alex couldn’t help but feel curious. ‘Were those people after this tree?’
Half an hour later, he managed to open a corner of this floating boundary. However, something unexpected happened.
Boom!
A powerful beam of light shot up into the skies with a fascinating melody playing alongside it. It would grant sudden enlightenment to anyone who heard it.
Whoosh!
Pigsy rushed over and grinned. “Alex, is it open?”
Alex stared at the light and frowned. “Sh*t. This is making too much noise. That seed must’ve seen it. They’ll be here at any minute. Quick, Pigsy, go grab the fruits.”
Pigsy was waiting for this very moment. With a joyful oink, it snuck into the boundary through the hole.
“Dawa, you’re up!”
The woman narrowed her eyes, struggling to give him an answer. “Young Lord, I… I…”
“What? Do you not want to Sign? Are you also thinking of turning into a traitor like that b*tch, Lorelei?”
“No, Young Lord, I wouldn’t dare. But… But…”
“Yeah, yeah. Just shut up and get this over with.” Eustace grabbed Dawa and forced a soul contract, binding them as master and slave. He then flung her aside and grabbed another woman.
“Lila, come here.”
The woman squeezed her hands tightly, still conflicted. She was shocked to hear about Lorelei and Nebula’s betrayal at first but understood their actions afterward. Since she was the closest to Nebula, she really didn’t want to sign it.
Finally, she mustered up the courage and lifted her head. “I’m sorry, my Young Lord. I won’t do it!”
