“You’re not Yuno? Then who are you?”

Alex wasn’t the only one confused. Agatha and the others felt like they were going to faint, as it took them a lot to be able to kill off that demonic god and save Yuno at the same time.

“And now you’re telling us you’re not Yuno?”

“I am the Peacock Heavenly King!” The unfamiliar voice then emphasized, “The true Peacock Heavenly King!”

After a short pause, she continued. “Thank you for all your help, else I would’ve actually become someone else.”

Alex immediately questioned. “Then what about Yuno? Is Yuno not the Peacock Heavenly King?”

The voice replied. “Yuno… She is probably one of my divided souls. She was able to escape this place, but she came back horribly injured. I didn’t have a choice but to dissipate her so that she could merge back into my soul again.”

It turned out she really didn’t have any other way to deal with that. She was indeed part of her soul, after all.

‘But wouldn’t dissipating her mean that none of her memories will remain?’

Yuno hadn’t been with Alex for long. It had only been at most two years since he started dating Phoebe. He remembered that Yuno told him to train Phoebe up to the Spirit Severing stage within three years and to follow her to someplace.

It would seem that she was talking about this underwater city. However, Alex suddenly went to the Undead Territory after the accident at the Flying Eagles Academy. He completely disappeared from this face of the Earth.

It was likely that Yuno had lost hope in Alex since then. Yet now, Alex knew that he would be left with regret if he were to allow Yuno to dissipate just like that. He spoke up. “Miss Peacock, I know a thing or two about healing souls. Can you release your divided soul, Yuno, so that I can have a look at her?”

“Maybe I might be able to heal her, then you won’t have to completely dissipate her.”

The peacock asked, “And what’s the point of that? She is just a divided soul.”

Hence Alex was the only one who could hear her voice.

“As a divided soul, I’d have to return at some point. The ending is all the same.”

“But you will forget about everything.”

“It’s okay, I’ve been here before, and I’ve lived independently before. I even got to know you and Phoebe. That’s more than enough for me.”

Alex shook his head. He would feel terrible if Yuno were to be dissipated, as it would feel like she died right in front of him, no less. Reaching his hands out, he activated his Chi, the Ultimate Book of Medicine, and several Zharvakko talismans. He then inserted all of this into Yuno’ dissipating soul, using it on her. He even grabbed a handful of pills and extracted its medicinal powers, sending it straight into her soul.
