Chapter 21 Good Impressions 

“I believed that as long as I could protect my internal organs from injuries, I could get out of the prison alive.” 

“Stop it. Fay. Just… stop saying it. Peyton held her and said in a shaky voice that her heart ached. terribly. 

Freya muttered, “Peyton, there’s nothing that I fear anymore.” Anyone that experienced the same would be as daring as me. 

“But, my only concern is the people that I love, which include my mom, my younger brother, and… you!” 

“You must be well and alive!” 

“Yes, I will be! Don’t you worry about me!” 

Freya sighed in relief; Peyton might be carefree, but she was a smart woman. 

My medical expenses for this time… She knew that the driver fled the scene, so they could not be claiming any medical expenses besides paying for them themselves. 

Peyton’s expression got weird, and she mumbled, “Mr. Morgan actually brought his personal doctor, Ozzy, to save you!” 

“And, Mr. Rivera was the one who sent you to the hospital. He used his Ferrari to shield you from the pickup truck, if not Peyton did not dare imagine what could have happened. 

Nathaniel? He’s the one that brought someone to save me? Freya frowned. 

Peyton muttered triumphantly, “And that bitchy Abigail should be enraged these days!” 

“Nathaniel came to the hospital himself, despite being in the middle of his engagement ceremony; it’s in the hot pursuit of Saeville now!” 

Freya was so shocked that Nathaniel ruined his engagement ceremony just for her. 

She felt uneasy, and suddenly there were footsteps out of the ward. 

Someone knocked on the door and walked in. 

Peyton quickly stood up and saw Jacob coming in. 

The bandage on his head was being taken off, and he has only put a plaster on the injury now. It should be fully recovered in no time. 

He was wearing a casual white t–shirt, and he was smiling friendly at them. 

He was a guy who smiled a lot, plus he w 

good–looking. Such an easy–going man easily made Peyton

“Ha, ha, thanks! I will be enjoying the soup!” She smiled and took the lunch box to smell it. “Wow, it’s indeed from a five–star hotel; it smells so nice.” 

Peyton sat to the side and let Jacob take her original seat. 

In the past few days, Jacob has made a really good impression. He was one of the most influential people from Saeville, and he was rumored to be a playboy. 

But she did not expect him to be even more caring than her. She was touched to see what he did for Freya. 

He washed her face and hands and fed her. He even snatched the urine bag from Freya before she could. 

Peyton was drinking the soup at the side, and she was looking at both of them. 

He was inserting a bouquet of baby’s breath into the vase; he changed the flowers daily, never repeating the same type of flowers. 

And he took the lunch box and sat in front of Freya; there were a lot of tubes inserted in her body, so she could not feed herself easily. 

She struggled to snatch the bowl to drink it by herself, but Jacob pinned her hands. 

‘T’ll be feeding you! What if you accidentally reinjure yourself? You’re still on a drip now; do you want to get sewing for your wound again?”
