Chapter 241 Investigation 

After a long banter, Peyton realized something and said, “Oh my gosh! I was so focused on myself! Freya!” She chuckled and whispered, “Is there something you need my help with?” 

Hearing that touched Freya as she said, “Are you free to talk, Peyton?” 

Peyton could be heard striding to a corner before stopping at a much quieter spot. Freya whispered, “I’ll transfer some money to you later. I want you to help me buy a house.” 

This stunned Peyton as she chuckled and said, “Did you finally get rich? I heard people talking about you lately, and they said that Nathaniel had given you a lot of money! This has gone viral in our city!” 

“Hmph! I want to tell them that you’re already rich to begin with and Nathaniel’s money was taken from your family in the first place…” Peyton paused as Freya’s family tragedy was everyone’s pain. 

Freya chuckled and said, “I’m fine, Peyton. Don’t worry about it. My family will always live on.” 

“Oh, so what kind of house do you want me to buy?“Peyton changed the topic. 

After a brief pause, Freya said, “A second hand one. I want one that has a normal looking courtyard. You know, the same one we bought when we had to make our escape. Please ask if any houses were on sale. It’ll be awesome if the courtyard has a garden. Do not buy it with my name. Do it with yours. I just need to hide something in the courtyard. I don’t want people to know about this.” 

Peyton agreed to help and after some brief banter, they hung up the call. After that, she transferred the funds to Peyton before deleting that transaction record and tossing her phone aside. After a brief moment, she went to the kitchen. 

Ms. Lovette had already prepared the fillings for the dumplings as she was micing up some fix. So, Freya washed her hands and was about to help, but Ms. Lovette refused. So, they started talking and the topic shifted to Nathaniel. Ms. Lovette was delighted to talk about him as she shared memories of his childhood with her. 

Freya replied, “Ms. Lovette, I noticed a lot of old pictures in Nathaniel’s phone. His father looked so handsome when he was younger. He’s not a local, right? I mean, he looks tall to me.” 

Ms. Lovette looked up and seemed to be reminiscing about something. She laughed and said, “He’s from the North and had a pretty terrible life. He grew up in an orphanage. Gosh, his life was tragic. He worked so hard to get rich, and yet…” She could not bring herself to continue. 

“What about Ms. Valeria then? How did she meet Mr. Zander? They looked happy together.” Freya asked.
