Chapter 243 Old Acquaintance 

Nathaniel was charmed by her smile as the lighting in Ocean Villa was excellent as the morning sun seemed to have formed a halo around her. As the sun lit her face, it made her look gentle when she smiled. This was the first time he saw her smile so warmly after she was released from prison. She smiled at him before, but he knew that she hated her, and her smiles often had ulterior motives. That moment made him feel like her old self had returned. It was just like all those years ago when she woke up in his arms and gave him such a warm smile. Nathaniel was so captivated by her smile that he was tempted to scold Koen again. 

Freya could tell that he was acting weird, so she stopped smiling and asked, “Where did you go, Mr. Nathaniel? I took some schedules and reports from your office, but I’m not sure when you’d be coming back. I asked the secretary, but they weren’t sure when you’d return as well.” 

Freya knew how well Nathaniel was at manipulating people, since he was able to charm her for four years and infiltrated her family’s internal management, which caused her father’s death. She knew that he was no saint. She knew that it would only raise suspicions if she did not tell him that she had taken something from his office. However, Nathaniel seemed a little secretive about where his current location was, so he said, “Europe. I’ll be back in a few days. Just wait for me.” His voice was charming when he told her to wait for him. 

However, Freya smiled and thought to herself, Europe? Haha! You really went to South–east Asia after all. Who knows what he’s up to! But it can’t be anything good! 

Nathaniel was visibly annoyed at her question, so he ended the call after some small talk. So, Freya put down her phone, got up and got ready for a job. Since her body was not well, she needed to train as her battle with Nathaniel would be quite mentally taxing for her. 

However, Freya paused while she was changing into her sportswear. She suddenly realized that she had made a mistake. She realized that there was one more place that she did not search in his office and that was his computer. She could not believe how foolish she was since she did not even bother to switch it on to search. So, she calmed herself down and went for the jog and decided to head to her office after breakfast. 

However, she was stunned as soon as she walked out of her home. Apparently, she was greeted by a Maserati while Jacob leaned against his car. He smiled at her while both of his hands were tucked away.
