Koen twitched his lips and said, "I don't know if they are tired, but I am exhausted from all this work."

"Are you tired?" Ozzy looked at Koen and teased, "I remember you always disliked sweets. Why have you been visiting Peyton's tea shop so often? Aren't you worried about getting diabetes or something?"

"Get out of here!" Koen punched Ozzy playfully before hurrying to the next ward to ask Nathaniel what he wanted to do about Abigail. He couldn't hide it from his brothers any longer.

Nathaniel finally let go of Frey's hand and asked Koen to bring Abigail in.

Whether it was an engagement or marriage, he felt he owed the Hill family an explanation.

When Frey heard that Abigail was coming, she left the ward wisely. She had been lying down for days and needed to move around.

Though it was cold outside, there was an activity room on the first floor of the building with indoor potted plants where she could read and listen to music.

Frey took the elevator down to the activity room.

Soon, Abigail walked into the ward and saw Nathaniel lying on the hospital bed. She was startled at first, then noticed the bed on the other side.

There were dark pink home clothes and a bear hair tie on the bedside. They were a girl's belongings. She suddenly understood.

No wonder she had been refused entry to see Nathaniel in the past few days, with excuses about his unstable condition and safety reasons.

They were all lies. They just didn’t want her there because someone else was already with him.

Abigail's initial worry turned into bitterness as she looked at Nathaniel's injured body.

"You should have been burned to death. So, why didn’t you?"

Nathaniel had wanted to play with her, and now he wanted to let her go when it was time to marry her. If she could tolerate this, she wouldn’t be human.

But now, Nathaniel really couldn't do anything, and there was no way he could carry out the wedding ceremony.

Without experiencing life and death, he couldn't understand such despair.

That night, when he saw the fire in the basement of Gomez Mansion, he hurried out of the villa and went next door. Higgins and the others followed.

Nathaniel was stunned when he saw the pendant on her backpack that Frey had dropped.

Frey, a designer, had designed even her pendant herself. When he saw it, he realized she had climbed over the wall into the Shen house.

He rushed in without thinking.

Only then did Nathaniel realize how important Frey was to him. He couldn't bear the thought of her leaving him.

His words were like a knife to Abigail, stabbing her heart.

She stared at him, completely dumbfounded, unable to react.
