He didn't change out of his formal attire after leaving the court. He looked like a wife who had just come from a vegetable shop, holding two enormous bags filled with different fruits, veggies, and spices.

After giving Freya a moment to compose herself, Nathaniel entered before she could close the door.

After getting dressed and cleaning his hands, he got to work in the kitchen.

It didn't seem right to Freya to stand there and do nothing. She entered the kitchen and wanted to help, but the more she did, the messier things got.

Nathaniel chuckled and exclaimed, "Leave!"

Nathaniel got the food ready to be served while Freya finished getting the dishes and cutlery ready. These were mostly light-flavored foods that Freya loved.

The two ate tacitly after sitting down in silence. They seldom spoke about anything else than their opinions on how the food tasted.

On the subject of that child, it was forbidden territory between them. Nobody ventured to handle it.

Nathaniel washed the dishes after they finished their dinner together. It was afternoon by the time the cleaning was done.

Nathaniel added, "I'm going to live with you these days," as Freya peered toward the door.

"No," Freya said strongly.

"I will find someone to change the lock if you don't tell me the password!"

Nathaniel was really bossy.

"Nah!" Freya scowled.

Nathaniel stared at her and said, "Obviously, you feel it too; your body can't fool itself."

"No!" Freya blushed in humiliation and looked at Nathaniel.

Nathaniel said, "Koen!" as he lifted her up in one hand and removed his phone from his jeans with the other.

"Mr. Nathaniel...""Ms. Freya's door's password lock needs to be changed. Change in two hours!"

The one who was killed alive was Nathan's son. Nathaniel exerted pressure on all parties involved to ensure that justice was served.

Freya brought the flowers to the nearby graveyard upon the announcement of the decision. The flowers were laid in front of her son's gravestone by her. Her child had so tragically suffered before he was even born.

The wet breath of the sea pervaded the surrounding air, even though it was already midsummer.

Freya sat in front of the gravestone, talking softly and stroking it carefully. "Abigail has been sentenced to death. As a mother, I can only take care of you to such an extent. I apologize that I could not do more for you."

Footsteps echoed from behind her, and behind Freya stood Nathaniel's towering figure. He held a bouquet of flowers in his arms and gently placed it in front of the child's tombstone.

"Freya," he said in a very raspy voice. Freya..."

Twice he called her name, and she was there in front of him. Nathaniel never received an answer to his petition for pardon.

With a smile on her face, Freya looked up at the sky and declared, "It's all over."

A brilliant spark came into Nathaniel's eyes as he tightly clutched her hand. His hands trembled a little because he was holding it too tightly.
