When I was the eldest daughter of the Gomez family, life was like a bed of roses. Now, all I can do is wait. There's no way to take action myself.

Sawyer, sensing her thoughts, looked at Frey intently. "Frey, there's no need to be so harsh on yourself. You're already amazing; it's just that luck hasn't been on your side."

Before Frey could respond, Sawyer's cell phone rang. He answered it, and his expression quickly changed.

"What? The car ended up parked at the church and then left again?"

"You sure about that?"

A young man's urgent voice came from the other end. "Mr. Sawyer, I'm certain. It drove to the back of the church and then drove away."

"Can you pull up the surveillance footage?" Sawyer's frustration was evident.

Someone dared to snatch the prize from under his nose.

"Mr. Sawyer," the man's voice grew more hesitant, "the church is managed by the diocese with a different system. We can't hack into it, and besides, tampering with the church's surveillance isn't easy."

"Useless!" Sawyer hung up and immediately dialed another number.

"Keep an eye on the church for me, and about Nathaniel..."

Sawyer stopped mid-sentence, realizing Frey was still in the room. He moved to the balcony to continue the call.

Frey, sitting on the sofa, felt a familiar unease hearing Nathaniel's name again. In just a few days, her life had been turned upside down.

After a while, Sawyer returned, still preoccupied. "Don't worry, I'll handle everything personally. If you feel bored and want to go out, my people can accompany you."

"It's okay, I'll manage," Frey replied, her mind occupied with thoughts of her brother. If this lead failed, she wouldn't know what to do next.

"Thank you for everything," she added, aware of Sawyer's feelings for her, which had developed suddenly and inconveniently during her lowest moments.

Her hair is so soft!

"Frey, I mean no offense, but Nathaniel isn't right for you," Sawyer said before leaving.

Frey closed her eyes, feeling the absurdity of it all. She called Mandy, who quickly explained, "Ms. Frey, I've found a lawyer, but suing Mr. Nathaniel is difficult. The lawyer's fees are high."

"It doesn't matter," Frey said. "As long as it gets done."

Mandy continued, "I've prepared a divorce agreement. I don't know how long you'll be in Pontenero. Should I mail it to you for signing?"

"Send it to Nathaniel first. He'll sign it quickly," Frey replied, resigned to her fate. "After he signs, mail both copies to me. I might not be able to return from Pontenero immediately."

"Okay!" Mandy agreed but hesitated. "Ms. Frey, shouldn't you see Mr. Nathaniel once before the divorce? It's a big decision."

Frey smiled bitterly. "There's no need. Not meeting each other is our final dignity."
