Chapter 17
I can’t help but have a headache when it comes to this childhood friend. When I married Jack, he was against it the whole time and even cut me off for a few months.
But because of Emma’s voice, he took the opportunity to repair his relationship with me.
He is the son of the Alpha King of the werewolf world – His Royal Highness, the Alpha Prince of the Werewolves, Askhan.
“You were once Queen Luna’s favorite little girl, you know.” Olavir also back into menories.
“Her arms used to be your exclusive seat. Not even Prince Alpha could snatch it from you.”
“When you were a child, you and Askhan used to fight over having to fight for Queen Luna’s embrace, but in the end it was Askhan who apologized to you.“>
I was also caught up in the memories.
Askhan may be the Alpha Prince, but he was always sincere and brave in front of me.
Eventually the helicopter began to land and I realized we’d reached our destination. Olavir helped me out of my seat and held my hand as we stepped out of the helicopter. Blair followed suit behind us.
The royal soldiers were lined up in a neat and organized arrangement. As soon as I stepped down on to the red carpet that had been laid out, they all got down on one knee.
“Welcome home,
Melanie princess!” Their voices boomed in unison.
I couldn’t help the grin that made its way to my face. A man began making his way towards us.
He was dressed in a sleek navy blazer tailored to perfection, paired with a crisp white shirt and a fitted black turtleneck underneath. His dark pants complemented his polished shoes. There was a subtle silver chain hanging around his neck. A pair of sunglasses rested on his head, giving him an air of casual elegance.
“Melanie.” He beamed, a huge smile on his face. “I’m sorry I wasn’t there when you were hurt and couldn’t help you tear those abominations apart!”
He opened his arms, ready to pull me into a hug.
“Askhan,Don’t let them call me princess! It is too shameful! The words left my lips before I even realized it.
“In the flesh.” He smiled, wrapping his arms around me as he pulled me into a hug. I hugged him back.
