Evelyn noticed Tiffany's gaze at this moment. There was a trace of amusement in her eyes. That look made Evelyn feel uncomfortable. It was like a thorn in her side.
Lucas' face remained cold and expressionless. There wasn't even a hint of familiarity between them.
All around, people were beginning to look over.
Evelyn's lips curled into a faint smile. "Ms. Moore already has her own knight in shining armor. I'm just curious, though. What role is Mr. Scott playing now?"
That one remark made Flynn's expression turn noticeably awkward. Instinctively, he glared at Evelyn. He was clearly annoyed. Was she mocking him right now?
"Obviously, a simp." Justine chimed in, showing no intention of sparing his feelings. If Flynn was targeting Evelyn, she would absolutely take Evelyn's side. Especially since it was obvious that Flynn started this.
Flynn's face darkened. "Justine, that's enough. I'm just admiring Ms. Moore. That's all."
Tiffany couldn't help but frown. She had expected Evelyn to feel embarrassed and flustered, but instead, Evelyn shifted the focus entirely—aiming it at her and Flynn.
She thought Flynn wasn't too bad himself. But she didn't like being grouped together with anyone, especially when no man could ever compare to Lucas.
Evelyn knew the atmosphere had grown tense, but she didn't care. She glanced up casually—only to unexpectedly meet Lucas' gaze head-on.
He was looking at her, still expressionless. But there was a flicker of amusement in his eyes.
Evelyn paused in confusion. She couldn't understand what Lucas was thinking. She had just made the situation awkward for everyone—so why was he still smiling, calm, and unbothered?
She couldn't figure him out. Frowning, Evelyn tugged on Justine's arm and walked off to explore another part of the exhibition.
Only after Evelyn left did Tiffany relax. Her expression softened as she turned gracefully toward Brandon, who had been silently watching the drama unfold.
"Mr. Connor, we meet again," she greeted politely.
"What's wrong?" Brandon turned and asked.
Flynn shook his head, clearly troubled. "I'm just worried about my sister. She has poor judgment when it comes to people. Sorry you had to witness that."
Brandon thought back to Evelyn's composed, cool demeanor just moments ago. Honestly, he didn't think she was as bad as Flynn was making her out to be.
"You don't know the half of it." Flynn scoffed. "Evelyn might look calm and modest, but I've seen her deliberately target Tiffany. Once, she left Tiffany standing in the freezing cold for over an hour.
"For a fellow woman, that's pretty heartless. And Tiffany, being the gracious person she is, didn't even make a fuss about it."
Brandon was a little surprised. He hadn't expected that. If that were true, Tiffany seemed even more composed and dignified than he would have thought.
Still, he just shrugged and chose not to say anything more.
