Sebastian looked at Evelyn the moment Lucas arrived.

Noticing that she was unfazed and was focused on recording data on the military tech, he gave a satisfied smirk.

He had always known that Evelyn was a woman with a strong will. Once she made up her mind, she could pull herself out of anything quickly.

She had always been exceptional when it came to balancing her emotions.

However, Sebastian could not help but pay attention to Lucas.

Lucas clearly knew that Evelyn was here too, but his gaze merely brushed past her with indifference.

His sight never once lingered on Evelyn.

To anyone watching, whether they knew about their history or not, it would seem that the two of them were strangers.

The distance and detachment he effortlessly displayed cut deep into one's heart.

"Did he ever bring you a hot drink?" Sebastian scoffed, turning to Evelyn. "Mr. Grant is quite a considerate man."

Evelyn kept her eyes on her notebook, her hands scribbling furiously. "No," she said flatly.

She was telling the truth. The doting boyfriend of someone else used to be her cold and indifferent husband.

He did not love her—that was all there was to it.

Sebastian patted Evelyn's shoulder proudly. "Evie is all grown up now. To celebrate the end of your delusions, dinner's on me tonight."

"Stop it." Evelyn chuckled.

Their interaction was relaxed, showing their close relationship.

Jason could not help but look over multiple times. He then shifted his gaze to Lucas, who was still talking to Tiffany quietly.

Lucas paid no attention to Evelyn and Sebastian, much less cared about how close the two of them were at all.

"Everyone, gather around. Let's share our thoughts on what we've seen today," Thomas called out to everyone.

The group began to move closer.

Evelyn felt she had gained a lot today, which gave her some inspiration. This made her jot down her ideas while walking.

Sebastian caught a glimpse of her notes and was stunned. It would be a big deal if anyone were to get their hands on this.

Inside were all the crucial technical insights. Any major business would kill for a copy of her notes.

Her mind was incredibly sharp to be able to expand on just basic ideas. It was no wonder Graham had been so bitter about her leaving all these years.

Flynn also noticed Evelyn's actions. He whispered to everyone around, "Anyone who didn't know would think she's some expert, eager and curious to learn."

Tiffany glanced at Evelyn's notebook and let out a silent laugh.

She understood what Flynn meant. Evelyn was simply putting on a show.

"Today was very insightful, but I'm even more curious about why the UN2 combat drone's lead developer hasn't been made known yet? Are they from the institute too? Could it be Professor Hill?" Flynn questioned after approaching.

Brandon and the others turned to Thomas. They were curious about it too.

Lucas glanced subtly in Sebastian's direction.

Sebastian had already stated that he was not the lead developer of the UN2 combat drone. Since then, no other news has been heard.

Tiffany composed herself and asked no more.

At this moment, she looked over at Lucas, and their gazes met. The look they shared was so intimate that it was almost tangible.

Evelyn stood right across from them. It was impossible not to notice, but she merely looked away, unaffected.

The others did not find anything strange in Thomas' response. Geniuses like the UN2 lead developer were understandably aloof.

"This is just one of the many exhibits. There are two more tech parks left to see. After that, we'll have a briefing on our plans. It may give you all some insights," Thomas continued before instructing the staff members to prepare the vehicles.

The distance between the tech parks was far enough that they needed to drive over.

Sebastian and Thomas moved off to discuss some details, while Evelyn planned to wait in the car.

Several cars from the tech park were already parked outside. She scanned the area and chose the nearest one.

Walking over, she opened the car, only to come face-to-face with the man seated inside.

Lucas stared at her. "Hold on for a moment. There's someone here," he said to no one in particular.

He was in the middle of a video conference on his laptop.

Evelyn understood immediately. He was probably discussing something confidential about Bluezen and did not want her to overhear.

She gave him a calm nod before turning to leave. She did not intend to share a car with him.

Before she could take a step, sounds of high heels approached. Tiffany appeared beside her and cast her a cool glance.

"Ms. Reed, care to move aside? That seat's mine," she said, her tone gentle but proud.
