Lucas answered the phone. His deep voice was emotionless. "What is it?"

The room in the car was small, so Evelyn could hear Sophia acting cute even though she didn't wish to hear it.

"Lucas, you've probably started your journey, right? Come pick me up."

Lucas never catered to Sophia's every whim. On the contrary, he was merciless most of the time.

"Am I your driver?" he asked coldly.

Sophia couldn't help but shrink back. She mumbled, feeling wronged, "It's along your route, so why can't you pick me up? I even asked Grandma. You'll definitely pass by my place en route."

Lucas couldn't be bothered to dispute this with her. "Hold on."

He raised his head and told the driver the address. He then turned to glance at Evelyn. "Do you mind if I pick her up?"

Evelyn shook her head and replied, "It's fine. Just drop me off by the roadside in a while."

She didn't want to ride in his car to begin with.

"It's on the same route as Flying Seal Group. I'll just send you there." Lucas lowered his head to look at his watch as he said that. His deep voice betrayed no emotion.

Evelyn didn't say much more in response.

The driver then drove toward the destination Sophia mentioned.

Evelyn instantly saw Sophia and Tiffany by the roadside. The two of them were unexpectedly together. It was no wonder Lucas humored Sophia.

Sophia happily opened the car door. However, the moment she saw Evelyn, her smile dimmed and her brows furrowed.

"What are you doing here?" she asked.

She then turned toward Tiffany and looked at her awkwardly. "Tiffany, I didn't expect her to be present."

Tiffany clutched her crocodile skin purse. Her demeanor was calm and elegant as she replied, "It's alright. It's probably en route."

Only then did Sophia breathe a sigh of relief. She smiled and looped her arm through Tiffany's. "You're truly generous."

He hadn't said a word throughout the entire exchange. However, at this moment, he acknowledged her "understanding". He was thus kind and "considerate" enough to call her a ride.

Even so, not long ago, he had insisted on driving her to the Flying Seal Group.

Evelyn met his gaze. At that moment, she thought about how other women in her shoes wouldn't tolerate such a situation and might have refused to let them have their way.

However, Evelyn didn't have the time or energy to do so.

"There's no need to do so," Evelyn rejected.

She didn't care what Lucas' or anyone else's expressions were and walked to the nearby bus stop.

Tiffany got into the car and sat beside Lucas. She could smell the faint lingering scent Evelyn had left behind in the car. Her brow furrowed slightly.

"Lucas, could you roll down the windows? The air feels a little stuffy. Let's clear it out."

She didn't want Evelyn to have too much contact with Lucas. She also disliked the smell and traces of Evelyn on Lucas, his belongings, and his space.
