Lucas' question stunned Evelyn.

Her brows instinctively furrowed. When it came to the divorce, she didn't want even the slightest error to occur. Even if she no longer wished to have any interactions with Lucas, she still needed to consider the bigger picture.

After a moment of contemplation, she slowly exhaled. "Is that convenient?"

Lucas looked at her, something indiscernible flickering in his dark gaze.

Smiling lazily, he replied, "It's your call."

She felt that this statement seemed ambiguous. It gave her a strange feeling, but she couldn't be bothered to overthink it.

After saving Lucas' new number and confirming it, she finally felt a little more at ease.

Lucas glanced casually at the recent call log showing Evelyn's number with a calm expression.

Evelyn checked the time.

She had only come by to visit, and now that Maria was resting, she didn't plan to stay. Holding the box containing the watch Maria had given her, she was about to leave when someone gently grabbed her arm.

"Wait," came Lucas' voice from behind her.

Evelyn instinctively frowned and looked back.

He only released his grip upon seeing her repulsion. Then, he said, "I'm not staying the night. Don't fuss about it and just spend the night here."

His words seemed to show that he considered that Evelyn didn't want the trouble of staying under the same roof as him.

He took a step back, his dark eyes calm as he added, "It's not that safe to drive at night."

She had insisted on leaving even when it was close to 11:00 pm last time.

With that, he walked past Evelyn and left. He didn't drag out the conversation.

Evelyn had indeed been worried about staying under the safe roof with him. She didn't want to end up doing so after divorcing him. However, she hadn't expected him to leave of his own accord.

Soon, she realized that she had forgotten to ask him for the receipt for the necklace.

Evelyn hadn't expected things to go quite this far, but she was calm.

She'd assumed Lucas would at most arrange for Tiffany to join Grant Group and fast-track her rise through the ranks. Who would've thought he'd help her start her own company that was a direct competitor to Flying Seal Group?

In the afternoon, Justine stormed through the door. She plopped into a seat and said, "I passed by Arrowpoint Solutions today, and guess what? I ran into Millie. She looked thrilled, as if her illness was about to be cured by sheer joy."

Arrowpoint Solutions was still being fitted out internally, but that mother-daughter pair was getting bolder and brasher by the day.

Evelyn didn't so much as blink. She kept her eyes on the new concept plan open on her computer. "Where's Seb? I've drafted a new version of the proposal."

Seeing Evelyn completely unfazed, Justine immediately let out a breath of relief and scooted over happily. "For a new project plan?"

Evelyn raised a brow slightly. "Yeah. It's focused on new energy. Other people's business has nothing to do with us. We only need to focus on making sure that Flying Seal Group wins the next race."

Justine instantly gave her a big thumbs up.

If it had been anyone else, they'd probably be too upset by all the gossip swirling around to have proper meals or sleep.
