Evelyn felt her heart clench. She was slightly stunned and a little disbelieving.

He glanced at Evelyn, then turned away to pick it up. His voice subconsciously softened slightly as he answered, "Okay, I'll be back soon."

He turned and hurriedly left without bothering to see if Evelyn had more to say to him.

He was treating her as dismissively as before.

Evelyn initially planned to take this opportunity to ask him when he would have the time to meet Maria and clear things up.

Seeing Lucas rush off to see Tiffany without a second thought, Evelyn simply got into her car.

It was fine. She would just ask him next time.

She had neither the strength nor energy to pester him about it right now.

She removed the pills from their packaging and put them into clear bottles. After disposing of the packaging, she returned to Flying Seal Group.

Evelyn didn't mention anything about visiting the hospital for a check-up. Justine thought she had gone to visit Leonard, so she asked Evelyn about his condition.

Evelyn was reminded of how miserable he had seemed. She closed her eyes and shook her head. "He's the same as always."

Feeling sorry, Justine hugged Evelyn.

That night, Evelyn left work and returned home to collect her thoughts. Combat drones were a major project for the advancement of technology, and Flying Seal Group would be corresponding closely with the decision-makers for the next two years.

Evelyn already had a complete plan in mind, but she still needed to discuss it with Sebastian and the others.

Before she knew it, it was already nearing 10:00 pm.

The alarm Evelyn had set as a reminder to take her medicine went off. Holding in the urge to puke, she swallowed the pills. That was when she received a call from Sebastian.

"Evie, there's something you need to know," he said.

"What is it?"

"I bumped into Lucas and Tiffany tonight while meeting up with Mr. York. Tiffany was being greedy, attempting to collaborate on Flying Seal's next project!"

Mason thought this was inconceivable. "If not her, who does Sebastian think is capable?"

Jason glanced at Lucas, who appeared imperturbed. "I heard from my father that Sebastian's placing great importance on UN2. It's a sci-tech innovation with a weapon system that has no flaws in actual combat.
