Jessica looked at Blake in surprise. How could she not know Evelyn was married?

Blake narrowed his eyes. He had already noticed the underlying tension between Evelyn and Lucas. Evelyn wasn't the type to be petty or dramatic. She only lashed out when she was pushed to her limit—like now.

His gaze darkened slightly, and then he suddenly leaned over and grabbed the coconut water in front of Evelyn. "She doesn't drink coconut water."

Lucas was facing Tiffany, listening to her speak. Whether he had heard or not, he gave no indication.

Evelyn glanced at Blake. Out of everyone, he knew her best, and she couldn't deny it.

Jessica pouted and said, "You're so nice to Evelyn."

Blake pulled her close, murmuring something into her ear that made her playfully swat at him.

Evelyn looked at Blake and then her gaze landed on Lucas.

Lucas didn't react. She knew him well enough to understand—if he didn't want to care, he simply wouldn't.

After the meal, Lucas and Tiffany left first.

Before walking out, Lucas turned to Sebastian. "Mr. Hill, do you have a moment?"

Sebastian was polite as always. "Of course."

Evelyn took that as her cue to stay out of it.

Meanwhile, Blake and Jessica were also getting ready to leave. That was when Evelyn noticed an exquisite airplane pendant hanging on Jessica's phone case.

She froze as she recognized it instantly. It was the exact one she had handmade for Blake when they were teenagers. It had taken her a full week to craft, leaving her fingers raw and bruised.

Back then, Blake had treasured it. He had been furious—and heartbroken—when he saw the blisters on her hands.

Blake followed her gaze and noticed her staring at the charm.

He patted Jessica's shoulder. "Wait for me in the car."

Jessica gave Evelyn a thoughtful glance before nodding. "Alright, but don't take too long."

Blake rubbed his temples. "No. Let's go."

Lucas had sought Sebastian out for a reason. He wanted Sebastian to arrange a meeting between Tiffany and Graham.

"Lucas wants my dad to meet Tiffany." Sebastian scoffed. "He even told me to name my price. Anything within his power, he's willing to offer it. Tiffany wants to write a research paper and is hoping to get some guidance from my dad."

Sebastian sneered, "Does she even deserve it?"

Evelyn sat quietly for a long moment.

Lucas was really willing to go this far for Tiffany. It wasn't just about opening doors. Everyone knew that when Lucas made a promise, it carried serious weight.

If Sebastian wanted to be greedy, he could ask for anything, and Lucas would still willingly agree to it.
