However, Evelyn felt her cheeks burning. She felt as if she had taken a blow to her chest.

Lucas' firm decision made Evelyn look like she was nothing compared to Tiffany.

He did not care if Evelyn had intentionally worn the same dress as Tiffany. In his heart, Tiffany came first. He only cared about protecting Tiffany's image. He did not care if Evelyn would feel awkward or embarrassed.

"Mr. Grant, it's just a dress. There's no need for that." Sebastian looked unhappy. He took off his jacket and draped it on Evelyn's shoulder. "How about this? Are you happy now?"

It was only then Evelyn looked away and calmed her breathing silently.

Lucas continued looking at Evelyn coldly. Sebastian's jacket covered half of the dress, and Evelyn did not reject his gentlemanly action.

"It's fine. This doesn't affect me," said Tiffany before she turned to Lucas gracefully. "Let's go to our seats, Lucas."

She took the high road and let the matter slide.

Lucas pulled his gaze away calmly and replied, "Alright."

Both of them left together.

Sebastian could not help but frown, and he patted Evelyn on her back, consoling her.

Evelyn clenched her fists slowly before she waved her hand. "I'm fine."

Of course, she would never change her dress. She did not think that she needed to compromise for Tiffany's sake.

Before Mason left, he glanced at Evelyn and said, "It's pointless to wear the same dress. The person Lucas likes is still Tiffany."

Clothes and jobs did not matter. What mattered was the person. Mason thought it was a pity that Evelyn did not understand that. He shrugged and left.

"Tiffany sure is popular among them." Sebastian sneered. "She has completely made them confused about what's right and wrong."

Evelyn shook her head calmly. "It's not that they can't tell the right from wrong. They are just biased toward her."

The way Evelyn was married to Lucas was rather shameful, so they had always misunderstood her and treated her with prejudice.

In the past, she wanted to explain herself and clear the air. But at that moment, she no longer cared, nor did she need to do that anymore.

Sebastian could not help but sigh. He was a bystander, and he could not even stand it. He could only imagine how Evelyn must be feeling.

She grabbed her wine glass and did a double take on Evelyn's necklace. Then, she exclaimed, "How did you get this necklace? Blake bought over four million dollars worth of jewelry with me yesterday, and the store gave us a diamond necklace for free. Why did he give it to you?"

Evelyn was a little stunned. It was a free gift?

Jessica finally realized what she had said, so she added embarrassingly, "Maybe I'm mistaken. Don't misunderstand me."

It was only then that Jessica left.

Evelyn stood there for a while and pulled the necklace off her neck. Then, she threw it in an empty glass.

The event officially started.

The people seated in the front were all familiar with each other. Evelyn was sitting on the left of Sebastian. Lucas, Tiffany, and the others were sitting to Sebastian's right with an aisle separating them.

Soon, the host started the introduction on the stage.

Evelyn noticed that the people around her were very excited. After a while, Sebastian patted her shoulder and said, "He's here."
