Five fucking days had passed, but Ethlyn couldn’t find any clue about the villain of her life, and the fact that she was searching everything that late that there was a big chance that the villain of her life might have erased all the proof that she could use against him or her.

“Ethlyn… Ethlyn!!”

“Yes!” Ethlyn said, looking around and finding Nathan sitting beside her. “Hey!! When did you come?”

“When you were lost in your own thoughts.” Nathan smiled, but Ethlyn didn’t smile at him back. She just couldn’t. “How are you feeling now?”

“Wondering what would have happened the night on which I got pregnant?” Ethlyn spoke and looked at him. “Have you…

“Did the doctor ask you to rest as much as possible rather than stressing yourself over the past?” Nathan asked, cutting her in between.

“How can you ask me to rest when the person who destroyed my life is roaming freely in the pack or outside the pack?” Ethlyn exclaimed.

“You’re overthinking. The person who destroyed your life is none other than you. Both your mom and I saw how you walked into the other person’s room on your own. So, stop looking for a person on whom you can put all the blame. You made a mistake and accepted it. There is nothing wrong in accepting the mistake.” Nathan said, explaining to her calmly, on which Ethlyn stood up on her feet, shaking her head.

“And mom was saying that we should think about giving each other a second chance. But I don’t think that without trust, we should waste our time in a second chance.”

Nathan held her hand and made her sit beside him again, “Fine!! I’m sorry.”

‘You're sorry; neither could bring my pup back to me nor make me forget your heartbreaking words.’ Ethlyn thought.

“By the way, there is a tiny little chance that Reva can find her mate,” Nathan said, changing the topic on which Ethlyn furrowed her eyes. “This is just a guess. I’m not sure about it. Whatever was happening in your family, because of that, she never attended the mating ball after turning eighteen. So, tomorrow the beta of the Blood Moon Pack is arriving here in search of his mate.”

“So, you think that he can be Reva’s mate?”

“Maybe. There is nothing to assume. He can’t also be her mate as well.” Nathan said, shrugging his shoulder. “She-wolf who lives in a pack starts meeting their mate just after attending eighteen years old. Even you have found it, haven’t you?”

“Hmm.” Ethlyn nodded her head. ‘If he will be Reva’s mate, then I will make sure to test him properly so that he won’t insult my sister and leave her at her vulnerable stage.’ She thought.

“Who was the person with whom I slept?” Ethlyn asked, reaching back to her previous topic.

“Ethlyn, I now know that you didn’t cheat on me, but it was just an accident.”

“That’s not the answer to my question.” She said sternly. If Nathan would have heard Roselet’s conversation, even then, he would have observed that even Roselet used to speak the same line when she didn’t receive the answer to her question.

“Alpha of Blood Moon Pack.”

“The same Blood Moon Pack from this Beta is coming?”

“Yes, the same Blood Moon.” Nathan agreed on which Ethlyn clenched her jaw. “Now, don’t start getting mad at each and every pack member of the Blood Moon Pack for whatever happened in the past because it was your mistake that you went in his room. He didn’t come into your room.”

“Really? Everything is my mistake, then where the hell was you when I was in heat that night?” Ethlyn questioned him in anger.

“Mind your tone, Ethlyn. I’m the Alpha of the pack, and I won’t accept you are disrespecting me. I’m trying to mold our relationship, but you’re getting mad at me as if I did something wrong with you. And I didn’t know you were in heat that night. You couldn’t handle yourself after a couple of drinks. That’s why I brought you our room and returned back to the ball.”

“And you never came back from the ball to check on me? Huh? Where were you that night, then? You told me previously that you were with me that night. Hmm? When I woke up in the morning, I found some money on the table, which you accepted, leaving for me so that I could reach the pack by taxi as you had to leave for another pack as soon as possible.” Ethlyn bombarded a number of questions on Nathan.

“Where were you, Nathan, that night? Tell me the truth, now. Because then, you agreed to be with me. Not just that, you also knew that… that I slept with someone else, didn’t you?”

“Hell, No!! I didn’t know about you sharing….” Nathan didn’t complete the sentence. “I can never stoop that low, Ethlyn.”

“Then where were you, Nathan? I want to know.” Ethlyn demanded. Nathan opened his mouth to answer her, but no words came out of his mouth. “What were you doing that your wolf couldn’t sense the danger around me? I agree that we weren’t marked then, but the sixth sense of a wolf always starts working in case of any danger around his/her mate.”

“I told you that I was out of pack works.”

“What kind of work were you doing that night?” Ethlyn questioned. “Were you with some woman that night?” She asked without thinking.

Ethlyn chuckled, laughing at her own situation. “A man is allowed to cheat on his woman, but the same woman can’t do the same with her man even by mistake.”

“Ethlyn…”
