Ethlyn wanted to cry in pain when her stomach hit the ground again, and this didn’t stop there; she started rolling like a ball on the slope of the mountain, but no voice was coming out of her mouth. She wanted to shout for help, but she couldn’t. It looked like her voice had died or something had happened. That was when she heard a familiar voice speaking, “Dad, why are you standing out? Come in.”

‘Reva?’ She wondered and tried to speak but failed again.

“Daddddd,” Reva yelled, and with a lot of struggle, Ethlyn spoke, more like whispered.

“Dad,” She opened her eyes slowly, sweating badly. The incident that happened years back was somewhere fresh in her memory. She was breathing heavily and looked around and realized that she was in the hospital, but the room in the hospital was different from yesterday's one.

“Ethlyn.” She saw her father reaching toward her to check on her. “How are you feeling, sweetheart?” he asked but instead of answering him. She observed him carefully. He looked old and a little different.

“Dad…” She spoke, and her voice came like a hoarse one. Christian gave her water to drink. “Where… where is my.. Pup?” She asked the first thing that was on her mind.

“Hey!! Even I’m here. Don’t ignore me like I’m Miss Invisible.” Reva whined, changing the topic. She didn’t know what exactly her parents did in the past. All she was told was that both pups of Ethlyn couldn’t make it. Ethlyn watched her sister carefully, who didn’t look like a teenager anymore but a grown-up woman.

‘How long I was out?’ She wondered.

“Ethlyn, baby!! You just woke up and started worrying again, just like yesterday. You should take some rest.” Christian added, caressing his daughter’s hair. “Reva, go and call the doctor.”

“Okay, dad.”

“I.. I feel like… I’ve been resting for years,” Ethlyn replied with a sigh. She tried to lift her hand, but it looked li had been jammed. “You and Reva look.. looks older. What’s the date today?” She questioned, trying to keep her eyes open.

“28th September.”

“28th September?” Ethlyn looked at his father in surprise. “I was out for around eight months. Maybe because I healed at the speed of a human, that’s why. I remembered Cinder sacrificing her life to save our pup because of extreme internal bleeding.” She concluded and felt empty because of the lack of her wolf. “My pup is a boy… or girl, dad?”

“I… I couldn’t find his or her gender on the day when it was going to be relieved.” She muttered and recalled the horrible memories of her life. “After a few couples, he or she will be one.” Ethlyn smiled, thinking that she was feeling slight pain in her brain because of the surgery, which hadn’t healed properly.

“What… what is his or her name, dad?” She asked again.

Throughout the time, she was asking about her pup, and Christian couldn’t just break the news to her that her pups were no more, which was planned by Abigail. He had no idea how she would take that news, not when it was asked not to stress her about anything.

Before Christian would have answered her, the doctor walked in to check on her along with Abigail.

“Oh, Moon Goddess, she is now finally awake for real,” Abigail exclaimed without catching her breath. It looked like she did a little marathon to reach near her. The doctor checked her vitals and shined a small flashlight in front of her eyes, and moved his finger.

“Ms. Smith, can you hear me? Can you follow my finger, please?” The doctor asked to which Ethlyn narrowed her eyes. Didn't the other doctor ask almost the same question when she woke up yesterday? But she nodded her head. After a couple of minutes, even Nathan came with his mother into her room, knowing that she was awake. By observing every one of her packs, she realized that she was in her previous pack and also the fact that there was a higher chance that she had slept for just eight months.

‘All my family members are here, then where is my pup? Is he or she with some nanny at home?’ She wondered and observed everyone’s expression, and which was happy to see her. Her father wasn’t legging go of her hand and stayed by her side as long as the medical team kept checking on her again.
