James blushed again but hugged his mom back. “Anyway… back to the point, Roger wants me to set aside a day or some time to talk because he wants to get to know me.” 

“Well, it sure took him long enough.” 

I just don’t know if I should accept, since he treated you badly and..” 

“James Cooper,” his mother interrupted him. “Don’t do that.” 

“Do what?” 

“Don’t carry around other people’s grudges that won’t do you any good. What I went through in the past has nothing to do with you, and in my own way, I’ve already forgiven Roger… because if I hadn’t, I wouldn’t be here with you and your siblings.”
