"The woman sitting downstairs might be the future lady of the Southern Haven Villas. Besides, I am your employer, and you are my employee. You will just do what you are paid for. There is no need to care for my affairs. Just do what you're supposed to do!" Madelyn shouted.

"Yes, Ms. Jent," Margaret obliged. She quickly clothed Dalton and brought him away. Then, Madelyn lowered her gaze and hid her face. Had Zach not heard the emotion in her voice, he would have assumed she did not care.

Zach was dressed in loose black pajamas. He moved his hand to feel her forehead when she met his gaze. She made no attempt to hide her feelings and turned her head away to avoid his touch. Zach's hand was left suspended in the air. He paused before balling his fists.
