“Felix Zeller? How dare you show up?” Hugo sneered upon seeing Felix. 

“The Lord Kane you were so proud of will leave defeated. Do you really think you can turn things around? What a joke!” 

Before Hugo could continue, Callum slapped him across the face. “Shut up! This is not your place to speak.” 

What a foolish son! With Ernest present, Hugo should be trying to make a good impression as an innocent party. His provocation only served to bring momentary pleasure and greater loss. 

“Sir?” Ernest, recognizing Felix, immediately stepped forward to stand in front of him. 

“Mr. Holt Senior, it’s a surprise to see you again so soon,” Felix greeted.

Though he had never met Felix, Edward knew from Hugo’s earlier comments that this young man was the Felix who almost pursued Wendy. 

“I don’t just know him,” Ernest replied with a smile. “He even saved my life. Now I finally know your name.”

Hugo’s body trembled uncontrollably. He panicked about what to do. 

Ernest, the connection they were so proud of, had called Felix his savior. It was clear where Felix’s status truly lay.
