“I just wanted to know if you’d been somewhere in the past three days where you smelled something unusual,” Felix told the woman. 

Snakefruits had a particularly strong fragrance, but regular people wouldn’t be able to tell where the smell was coming from. Also, the snakefruit scent would only last a maximum of three days on a person before disappearing. That was why Felix structured his question like that. 

The woman frowned as she thought for a long time. Her eyes lit up as she replied, “Now that you mention it, I went hiking with a friend the other day and smelled a really nice scent somewhere in the hills. But we somehow just couldn’t pinpoint its exact location.” 

Felix’s smile widened. It was just as he had suspected. 

“Can you please tell me where it is? I can give you the money first if you’re worried they might be fake. You can check the authenticity.” 

There were ways for people to verify the authenticity of banknotes online nowadays. So, Felix just closed the case back up and passed it to her. 

After hesitating for a moment, the woman removed the chain lock on her door and quickly took the case from him. Then, she shut the door behind her. 

A few minutes later, the door finally reopened. However, this time, Felix was directly invited into the room. After all, it was quite suspicious for him to continue standing in the doorway like that. 

“It was on a deserted hill in the north of Avesburgh. I can tell you my exact route.‘

“What’s your relationship with Nora Pearson?” Sam asked.

Sam got anxious and exclaimed coldly, “You brat, you’d better spit out the truth! You don’t know her? If you don’t know her, then why did you just come out of her room?”
