Dazed, Yvonne sat on the couch. She could not comprehend this. 

Last time, George had personally shown up to cause Felix some trouble. When he left in the end, she had assumed Felix was just too unimportant for George to bother with. That was why Felix had been let off the hook, or so she thought. 

After hearing their conversation over the phone now, she finally understood. She had been. puzzled all this while. 

George was not the type to let things slide. Spoiled as he was, he was not stupid. If he could mess with someone, he would certainly go for the jugular. Yet, Felix had walked away unscathed. 

“Why on Earth is George so cautious around Felix? And since when does he call anyone‘ Mister‘?” 

These questions buzzed around in Yvonne’s head, which gave her a migraine. She even wondered if she should be reporting this to her boss. 

After some contemplation, Yvonne decided to keep it to herself. If she had not slept with Felix, she would have spilled every detail. But now that George was in the mix, this was no longer a minor matter. For some reason, she hoped her boss would not cross paths with Felix again. 

That night, Felix dropped by Xena’s place to check on Curtis. After all, he would start treating him once he got his hands on the Moon’s Tear in Yartford. 

Xena opened the door without a word and led Felix to the top floor. 

After a thorough once–over, Felix was quite pleased with the result. A rare smile crossed his face. The Grimflower from last time had clearly done its job. 

“I’ll be taking my leave now.” 

When they reached the living room, Xena spoke up, “Wait.” 

Confused, Felix turned around. He could not think of anything left to discuss with her. Biting her lip, Xena finally said, “About Belle, I want to apologize on her behalf. As her boss, I bear some responsibility, too.” 

Felix was not surprised. Xena was actually a decent person in many ways. She was true to herself. Her only flaw was her excessive pride. 

He could not blame her for this. As the goddess of war, of course, she had the right to be picky about her partner. It was not unreasonable for her to want an equally or more
