Since Felix had promised to support her, Madeline stood up straight. She longed to prove. herself, especially since she had found success in her work. She wanted to find love and a family full of warmth, too. 

She had known Felix since they were young. He wasn’t one to make empty promises. Since he was standing up for her, he must be confident about himself. 

Lilian, however, sneered in disdain. “She’s losing out? Are you even hearing yourself? There aren’t many in Yartford who would dare to say that about joining our family. Ha! Birds of a feather flock together.” 

Felix casually tossed a Diamond Card from Concord Bank onto the table, saying, “We’re about the same age, right? Let’s see how rich you really are.” 

With a quick glance, Lilian recognized the card. After all, given her family’s financial standing, there was no way she wouldn’t recognize a Concord Bank Diamond Card. Her expression briefly changed, but then she scoffed. 

“So, you aren’t entirely useless. I guess you must be some sort of big shot in Avesburgh. But do you think the high society of Yartford cares only about money? You can’t buy status and identity with money. Having a Concord Bank Diamond Card doesn’t change a thing.” 

If Felix had his Supreme Black Card with him, it would have easily resolved the situation. In fact, he could simply make a phone call to resolve a minor issue like this. 

Just then, Luke said, “Thank you for standing up for Maddy and me. You don’t need to prove anything else. If my family truly won’t accept our relationship, I’ll take action. Trust me.” 

Madeline echoed his sentiment, saying, “That’s right. I believe in Luke, and that’s enough. 

Hearing that, Felix knew he didn’t need to interfere further. If Madeline ran into trouble later, she could call him. Besides, he could still observe Luke’s sincerity over time through this incident. 

“If nothing changes in three days, I’ll fulfill my promise,” Felix said. 

Lilian merely sneered, convinced that Felix was all talk. To her, he was just another country boy overly reliant on money. In Yartford, money didn’t make a person omnipotent. It was merely the bare requirement for one to be acknowledged. 

Leaving the private room, Felix and Madeline walked ahead while Lilian helt Luke back. 

“Come home with me now, and let’s clarify everything with Mom and Dad! Don’t you know that there’s no turning back once Dad makes up his mind?” Lilian scolded.
