Felix began examining the patient. Though he had already assessed the condition at a glance, under so many watchful eyes, he still went through the procedure carefully, even if just for show. After taking the pulse, Felix gave William a slight nod. 

“No issues.” 

Meanwhile, the modern medicine practitioners were busy drawing blood and hooking the patient up to various machines, leaving everyone else to wait. Elliott, never one to idle, used the opportunity to taunt Felix. 

“You’re Felix, right? Let me be clear. The anti–cancer drug developed by Guneria’s Institute of Advanced Medical Research will treat early–stage lung cancer in just ten minutes after injection.” 

Ten minutes? The expressions of everyone present shifted. Cancer, even in its early stages, was notorious for being difficult to treat, and doing so in ten minutes seemed unbelievable. 

Felix allowed a slight smile to appear on his face. 

“Is that so? Well, congratulations then! I hope it’ll be perfected soon and used to benefit humanity at large.” 

Benefit humanity? Elliott sneered. That wasn’t happening. This trial alone was a massive expense, and the treatment wasn’t here to serve the world–it was here to bring Dragonia down a peg. 

Elliott said, “Perhaps you didn’t understand me. If you don’t think you can cure your patient within ten minutes, just concede now. That way, we’ll save this precious vial of medication.”
