Xena stood frozen in place. Xander’s words repeated in her mind. It was exactly the same as what Felix had warned her earlier. 

“What’s wrong?” Xander asked. 

It wasn’t until Xander spoke again that she snapped back to reality, realizing now wasn’t the time to dwell on those thoughts. 

“So… Can you cure my cousin?” Xena asked hesitantly. 

Xander nodded. “Yes! The poison in his body is strong. It will only be triggered by physical impact. But once it is identified, treating it is quite straightforward.” 

Suddenly, a thought struck Xena. “Wait a second. You said his body can’t handle any impact, but he was knocked unconscious by someone!” 

A strange look crossed Xander’s face. He sighed helplessly. “You’re a skilled martial artist yourself. Do you really think it always takes force to knock out an ordinary person? Just a touch to the right pressure point would have been enough. 

Xena fell silent as she watched Xander begin the treatment, but her mind drifted back to Felix. Why had he said what he did? Could he have known about the poison in Lennox’s body as well? 

In just about ten minutes, Xander put away the silver needles. 

Xena began, “May I ask, how advanced must someone’s medical skills be to detect the poison in my cousin’s body?” 

“It wouldn’t take much. Any skilled doctor could manage it,” Xander replied. 

It seemed like Felix had really been hiding something. He wasn’t just an ordinary rural doctor. However, even this revelation did not entirely change Xena’s opinion of him. “By the way, is Curtis not home? I wanted to check on how well he’s recovering.” 

Xena shook her head. “No, but he’s doing great. In fact, he’s been wandering around outside, probably to make up for being unconscious for so long.” 

The truth was that Xander’s reason for agreeing to meet Xena for tea wasn’t just casual. He had come to figure something out. 

Once they were in the living room, he asked, “Did you use the Medical Card, or did you find the mysterious disciple of the miracle doctor?” 

Xena shook her head. “Neither. It was Dr. Quinn who cured my grandfather” 

“Dr. Quinn?” Xander’s brows furrowed deeply.

His reply was immediate and firm. “Impossible! Lady Summers, I don’t doubt Dr. Quinn’s medical skills. He is much better than I am. But the poison in your grandfather was Phantom Poison, and it had been in his body for so long. Dr. Quinn couldn’t have cured that. 

Had she not known Xander well, Xena would have been offended by his response. “I saw it with my own eyes. Are you saying you don’t trust me?” 

Xander took a deep breath. “I believe you, of course. But I’m telling the truth–Dr. Quinn could not have done it. Let me put it this way. Dr. Quinn doesn’t allow outsiders to watch his treatments, but surely you know how long he took to cure your grandfather?” 

How long it took? Xena remembered it clearly. 

“It was very quick, just a few minutes,” she replied.
