“Felix, I’m going to win Xena over before she becomes Warlady,” he muttered. “If you’re smart, you’ll back off now. Zara can’t protect you forever.” 

While walking through the neighborhood, Felix decided to skip the small talk. “Have you heard of Yardley Dining?” 

“No, I haven’t.” Xena shook her head. 

However, her heart unexpectedly raced, and she could not explain why. Was Felix really planning to pursue her? 

“I need a favor from Mr. Larry Laird of Yardley Dining,” Felix explained. “His condition is having you dine at his restaurant–a very formal, special dinner.” 

Hearing that he was asking for a favor, Xena’s excitement instantly deflated. “Absolutely not! I’m about to become a Warlady. Do you expect me to be a promotional tool for a random restaurant? That’s ridiculous!” 1 

She had a point–even A–list celebrities would hesitate to do such promotions, let alone someone of her status. Moreover, Yardley Dining was not even internationally renowned. 

“If you agree, I’ll be at Mr. Summers Senior’s beck and call whenever he has any health issues,” Felix offered. It was his last resort–the only thing he could think of that might persuade her. 

After a long moment of consideration, Xena nodded. “Fine. You better keep your word.” 

While Xena might have reservations about other aspects of Felix’s character, his medical expertise was undeniable. She was still investigating Madam Spring and had no guarantee of catching her. 

Hence, having a master healer on call would provide peace of mind, especially since Madam Spring seemed to be playing a long game with Curtis‘ life. 

Although only the top two master healers in Dragonia could refuse to see her once she became Warlady, she still felt that Felix was uniquely skilled among master healers. 

“Thank you,” Felix said before turning and walking away without another glance. 

Xena gritted her teeth, frustrated that her usual charm seemed ineffective on him. When she returned to the villa and opened the door, a powerful waye of energy surged toward her.
