Felix looked surprised. “You know about Madam Spring?” 

“Only by reputation. She’s an old–school troublemaker you don’t want to mess with. Good luck with that—I got what I came for, so I’m out,” Averill replied, but as she stood up, she sensed something wrong and quickly turned to Felix. “Damn it! She was carrying poison!” 

Though Averill was not a medical expert, her heightened abilities allowed her to detect it. The fact that it took over a minute to notice meant this was no ordinary toxin. 

Sure enough, Felix was now grinning at her lustfully. “Averill, you like me, right? I’m feeling really hot and bothered right now.‘ 

As Felix grabbed her and started kissing her wildly, Averill felt conflicted. “Stop it, Felix. You’re poisoned! Try to fight it and see if you can neutralize it yourself.” 

The woman’s seductive entrance made the poison’s purpose clear. When Felix looked up, Averill noticed his eyes were already bloodshot. 

“What poison? Come on, Averill. Didn’t you want to play last time? Let’s go!” Felix said as he scooped her up and rushed desperately toward the bedroom. 

“What should I do?” Averill wondered glumly. 

Without medical knowledge, she could not determine the poison’s nature. If Felix did not sleep with someone, his life could be in danger. 

However, giving in felt wrong since Felix was driven purely by the poison. He might not even remember anything afterward, which would break her heart. 

After all, any woman would want her first time to be beautiful and innocent. Averill was the same. She wanted it to be a memory worth visiting. 

Just then, the doorbell rang. Averill glanced back at Felix and made a snap decision, slipping out of his arms and hurrying to the door. 

“Why are you running, Averill? Afraid I can’t satisfy you?” 

Averill had already opened the door when Zara’s voice came through, “Felix? Are you home? I tried calling but couldn’t reach you.” 

As Zara stepped inside, she was greeted by a strange sight. 

Averill had Felix by the neck, holding him at bay as he clawed the air, muttering all sorts of inappropriate things. 

“Come to bed with me! I can’t take it anymore!” 

Averill looked at Zara helplessly. “I know you’re Zara Morgan, Silas‘ apprentice. He’s been
